Bears are opportunistic omnivores. They’ll browse and graze, scavenge and even hunt a lot like pigs. Spend as much time as you can in the woods and you’ll figure it out.
  • you and me both this year! got my license last week and just ordered the traditions 50 cal hawken kit last night

I know what you mean. It took me a long time to figure out how to hunt rabbits. I didn't get any for the first season or two. But walking around in the desert with a shotgun looking for them is pretty fun, even if you don't get one.

Go get ‘em amigo!I hope your successful in whatever you are expecting to accomplish. It’s a different standard for everyone. Some of my most memorable moments have been when I didn’t even harvest an animal. And I do it for a living.
  • Your definitely doing it right knowledge about the animal is important. The first books I read when I started were bear trapping books out of Maine. Trapping bear is elegal in mn but the books still helped me with foods and just learning what bears do! But spending time in the woods just looking at sign is darn good knowledge.
  • Did you know bears eat a bunch of grass to plug themselves up for hibernation so they don’t have to leave the den so often, that’s why they are mad coming out cause they are constipated, my dad told me that and I learned it from Dick proenneke alone in the wilderness documentary, it’s good, he was in Alaska tho, and ya that’s what real hunters do is scout and track not use cameras and feeders haha cool man out roaming the hills, if I had a gun while hiking I’d be eating deer/venison everyday lol, but in modern day I have to pay the king to hunt in his forest haha
