Neck Exercises for Dizziness | Neck Dizziness | Dr. Jon Saunders

Neck dizziness is a diagnosis by exclusion which makes it a difficult problem to diagnose. However, more people are suffering from cervicogenic dizziness or cervical vertigo and the need for skilled clinicians to recognize this as a potential cause is important.

In this video, Dr. Jon Saunders will show you some neck dizziness exercises in a routine that will help get you started on your healing from cervical vertigo. Neck exercises for dizziness can be extremely helpful for those suffering from dizziness coming from the neck.

If you have been suffering from dizziness and not getting any answers, the playlist associated with cervicogenic dizziness posted below may just be what you need to ask your doctor to confirm whether your dizziness/vertigo may be coming from a problem in your neck.

I’ve been suffering this for 7 months. I’ve watched a lot of videos. This is the best one I’ve come across
  • I’ve been doing these exercises for 2 months now and I’m very thankful to report that my dizziness seems to have gone. I’m not stopping them of course and I’m waiting to see an ENT specialist. But it seems to have gone. I did find very tight muscles below the occipital area which I could release with pressure and turning. I’m so grateful for your work and help.

Dr. John, I was misdiagnosed for 2 YEARS!!!! A resident doc and an eye doc confirmed I have vertigo. I suffered with no help for no reason! Just like most people here, I did tests, mri's, been to the hospital, felt like I was gonna die etc. Now that I know what I have I can actually do something about it. I saved your videos and do them everyday!!!! They help soooo much. Today, I drove!!! I haven't driven my car in a long time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤❤❤
  • Thanks Dr Jon for these exercises, I could only do the stretches and first couple of exercises last night do to severe dizziness, but after doing them I felt blood rushing into my head and the foggy brain went away. This morning I did all the stretches and exercises and the dizziness is almost gone. Praise God! Your videos are a real blessing.
  • this man is a gift, and he takes time to answer to many people, too bad these exercices arent taught to ppl
  • Dr Jon, I was so dizzy every day to the point to take dramamine to stop my nauseous and I find you on youtube and I do my execises every day and I feels so much better and no more dramamine!! Thank you Dr Jon

  • @jennlaurens
These have been amazing. I had issues in my head for so long and I wasn't sure what was going on and turns out it's all about the neck and trapezius muscles. I appreciate these videos they literally changed everything for me!

Update: I've now been doing these stretches and exercises for six months now. I've added ocular routine as well as several other videos to ease vertigo/dizziness. It has helped tremendously but hasn't gone away completely. I still get severe dizziness when changing head elevation, laying down, sitting up, etc. After exercise routine in the morning dizziness fades through the day until by evening I feel almost normal. When I wake up the next morning, dizziness has returned. I don't know if it's something I'm doing in my sleep or what. These videos have helped. Grateful. Thank you!
  • I have suffered for over 12 years from this and always misdiagnosed! I feel like this is a miracle finding you and this video. I will try these everyday. At least I have a name to put with this. So many tests and MRIs and Dr. Looked at me like I was nuts! Sometimes the tension and dizziness would be unbearable and I'm not a pill taker. Thank u so much for being on here. Marsha
  • @hansrockhard
Omg that clavical stretch at the beginning is heaven.
  • @rubyreddy00
Four Mondays ago I woke up with severe dizziness, tried ear crystals relocating exercises, no help. Then I found this video, so helpful. Three chiropractors have told me I needed to do neck exercises but I didn't. Starting my third week of daily exercise, SO helpful! They make me slightly dizzy but then the dizziness fades away throughout the day. This is the best set of exercises I've found. Thank you!
  • @ceceliamaryn
Thank you so much for this! Been dealing with this on and off for years, never could find a fix. I was having an especially bad flare of it the last 3 weeks to the point where I couldn't ride in a car because it was to dizzying. Literally the same day I started doing these exercise I had relief!
  • WOW, the right trap stretch showed me that it is STILL tight from a pull-up I did 5 years ago when my neck locked up and I was Mr. Roboto for a whole month, then got dizziness. I will keep doing all of these, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Tried VOR before to no avail, had head mri done, ear testing, NOTHING found, clean bill of sale until I just found out about PPPD today from another video!
  • You put a diagnosis to my problem. Neck pain and dizziness. I thought I was alone. Starting your exercizes but just knowing what it is already reduced the anxiety. Thank you.
  • @lauraspale297
I have been having problems for almost 4 years and have not be able to get answers. Doctors have thought my dizziness was associated with numerous other things. Tried these stretches this morning in addition to the PT I just started and I feel so much better already. Thank you!
  • Heyy Doc ! I was facing this from past year or so... In phases... Recently it became much regular and crippling... Just been doing these for a couple of weeks and its doing wonders for me... Love from India buddy... You may never know how many lives you've impacted... Wish you health and happiness !
  • Did the exercises in this video one time and I have some relief from dizziness/vertigo. It's very difficult to do anything when you feel like your on a boat out at 🌊 sea. I do feel better. Thank you!
  • Very spot on for treating Cervicogenic Dizziness showing the relationship between the: ear, the eye and the proprioceptive mechanical receptors in the neck.
