Day 2) Getting Lost in Florida Back Country on Merritt Island

Published 2021-05-24
It turns out, Florida is a lot bigger than it looks on the map. I saw this place "not to far" from the Kennedy Space Center called Pine Island Conservation area and I thought, lets go eat our lunch over there, it will be nice. It wasn't that nice...

Thanks again Michael for sharing another video, at least you gave it a try and you can always say you’ve both been there to anyone who is considering it. Best Regards to both of you.

Interesting trail by the Kennedy Space Center. Reminds me of the Everglades a little bit.

We weren’t too impressed with the Titusville area either. We drove out there to watch a rocket launch about a week ago and that was awesome to see. We’d like to go visit Kennedy Space Center as well, but other than that, there really wasn’t much else to see or do there. But now we can cross that one off our list and focus on other areas to see for our next trip to Florida!
  • yayyy !! new symra. can't wait for that one Tim and Jen tracker went to some nice food spots over there !!!
  • Thanks for taking along with you, great exploring place! Maybe one day we can caught for some alligators 🐊 😉

Don't you find you MUST use bug repellent in many areas you're out and about? We sure did! Swarms of them EVERYWHERE; especially close to water areas

There’s a small city managed park on Merritt island by a Army museum on the south end of the island which I recommend as it has helicopters and vehicles on display for free. I was surprised to read Cape Canaveral is slightly cooler in the daytime than St Augustine in the months of April and May but not any other month. Anyway I would not enter the water you’re videotaping. I read the Spanish original name for Cape Canaveral back in tge 16th century was “mosquito coast” so until NASA wanted to launch space stuff and New Yorkers wanted a day at the beach during their Disneyworld winter get away the Space Coast probably looked like what you videotaped at Merritt Island for thousands of years

I do see dolphins in the ocean more frequently at the Space Coast than the rest of Atlantic coast of Florida at least so far. I posted a pic of one on my Instagram last month

Hi Mike 😊 Two things... (1) Titusville=Bogo margaritas, so 🥳🥳🥳 and (2) especially like when you mix it up and offer both short and long vlogs, ty! Have as great day!
  • I enjoy your videos so much. I’m thinking of moving to Vero Beach from NC and see you hopped over that to Merritt Island. Anything to say about Vero Beach? Thanks for this great channel.

Beautiful looking area, carry a couple of folding chairs in your keep. I always have them with me.
