The Abandoned Hillman Bridge is located west of Live Oak FL just off HWY 90.Take your Next right just passed the Agricural Inspection Station. NE Drew Way.
The bridge was started with a Federal Aid Project 1925-1926.
1927 In 1927 is was Dedicated the Hillman Bridge after J.W. Hillman.
The bridge spanned the Suwanee River to Ellaville.a once thriving sawmill and manufacturing center which is now a Ghost Town with little remains.
In 1983 a truck with an Over Height Load did structrual damage.It was later abandoned and bypased by a new bridge in 1986.
