Urban Treats is back with another Recipe, this week we made little Tater Tot clones. This recipe will yield perfect tater tots that are crispy crunchy on the outside and smooth and soft on the inside. They are packed with flavour and taste great as a side dish or even as a snack.

If you want to make a more exciting version of this, try adding bits of bacon or cheddar cheese in to the mix, it works wonders.

As always here are the ingredients, if you are looking for the metric version please check the link below which also features a printable recipe for tare tots.

Ingredients
2 lbs Russet Potatoes
2 cloves Garlic
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Oregano
1 tbsp All Purpose Flour 00
1 pinch Pepper

Recipe Instructions
1) Peel and grate your potatoes, a fine cheese grater works best
2) Strain the potatoes using a sieve or a kitchen towel
3) Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well
4) Form little tots in your hand, squeeze them to release any remaining liquid
5) Fry them at a medium heat until golden brown, turn around and fry the other side until golden brown too.
6) Set on a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb any excess frying oil
7) Enjoy tasty Tater Tots

Living in Austria is not easy. This channel saved my life! I have struggled a lot about what I'm going to prepare for my Family. Danke Sehr 🙏
  • You didn't put the onion in the recipe. I tried it using no onions but I thought they were missing something, so I'll try this recipe instead. Thanks for your effort in making these videos, I know they require time and commitment. Cheers from Adelaide in South Australia, Paul

Thank you so much! As someone who’s allergic to soy, I make everything from scratch and this is by far the most simple video. Blessings to you!

Great video! Another video said “put frozen tater tots in your air fryer”. I just wish you would take a bite, or open up or cut what you’re cooking so we can see the texture of the inside. Thank you.
  • Thanks for making this video. I'm going to try this at home. /m/

Tater tots are my absolute fave! I tend to prepare them with truffle zest.
  • Going to make this today QUESTION 🙋 how can I shape them the traditional way when you buy them at the store. This is soooo good my go weekend side dish for any meal. Even better than popcorn 🍿. can I add old Bay seasoning or red pepper flakes for a little kick to the batter Or Tobassco sauce?

i grate the onion and use a garlic press, but if you prefer larger chunks of onion great.
