1984 Somogyi Dreadnought, Brazilian Rosewood & Sitka Spruce

Published 2019-03-12
Here's a beautiful example of Ervin Somogyi's earlier work, with Brazilian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce and a Flamed Mahogany neck. The playability is matched only by the tone of this guitar: smooth to the touch, and exquisitely balanced across the strings. We recorded this one first with fingers, and then we had Allen Shadd put it through its paces with a flatpick to show you how dynamic this Somogyi Dread can be. This is a great opportunity to get a piece of Somogyi history for yourself!

Wonderful Dreads’ sound beating most high-end OM guitars
  • All things relative I have friends who think nothing of spending £15000 on a week's prime salmon fishing. These guitars seem expensive until you actually break down the hours, materials and skill. This guitar sounds great as you would expect.
