Piano documentation no 30

I think I’m brave. Never before have I been attacked with such persistence and violence. Now – a few hours after the recording – I realize that this documentation at its worst shows what the attackers can disturb and what they cannot. When I reached the Chopin A-flat Ballad, I was on the verge of giving up, but then decided I would not be defeated. Those who listen to this may deny the existence of ghosts, claiming that it is just my old insecurity playing tricks on me, and they are right to an extent. But only those who have tried waking up in the middle of the night in terror because of a feeling of some evil presence may fathom how it is to hit the keyboard in such conditions. But I played on – and in a little while I will make a final documentation (before recording actual recitals), and this time I will play only two works: Liszt’s Benediction and his Sonata in b-minor. Despite the wrong notes I think you may be able to sense that the final breakthrough is not far away.
