Vertigo and Dizziness: Is it coming from your neck? Home Test and Treatment | Dr. Matthew Posa Chiropractor in Milton, ON

In this video, Dr. Matthew Posa, a chiropractor in Milton, Ontario will discuss the 3 main causes of #vertigo and #dizziness, their main differences and a simple test using a thermometer to determine if the neck is the problem.

Home Tests:
- Thermometer - Balanced: .2 of a degree or better
Out of balance: .3 or greater
- Swivel Chair Test - Sitting on a chair, turn your legs back and forth making sure not to turn your head or neck. If you get vertigo, then it can come from your neck.

There are many reasons for #vertigo and #bppv and #Dizziness. Please consult your medical doctor or chiropractor. These home tests are generic and are not meant to diagnose. This should only be done by a trained health care provider.

Thank you for this video. I have been experiencing vertigo, swaying to one side especially for more than a month. Got an MRI which showed nothing, blood work was normal, but when I did the acupressure point release exercise, it fixed the issue at least temporarily, after a few minutes it went back to being kind of dizzy again. There would also be times in the evening I would get a racing heart for a few moments as well..Is this all related to the vagus nerve, and is now a good time to see a chiropractor? Thanks.

I have had similar symptoms and been to various Dr’s. I finally went to a spine specialist and he ordered an MRI . His diagnosis was mine was all muscular located in the upper cervical . I started massage therapy and the therapist suggested I wear a cervical collar when I go to bed. This has given me a new lease on life and my dizziness and pain in my back and shoulders relief.
  • My doctor only tried to write me a script for anxiety. Never had anxiety until i had dizziness.
  • I use neck exercises and eye exercises….I’ve had vertigo for years but assumed it was from a concussion I had in the 80’s….then I found out I had a compressed disk in my neck…the eye exercises really help to stabilize it fast….
  • Thank you so much for ending my positional vertigo! The video I saw was the one that you were wearing a light blue shirt and did the one to lay on back, turn head side to side and then roll over on face. Two minutes cured two yrs of vertigo. I only had to do it once. I had a MRI, was told to do the epley one that didn't work for me. Next they were going to put me on pills and I refused. I got vertigo from leaning my head back in a shower to wash my hair. Thanks to you, I no longer spin when I lay down or bend over, etc and I stopped walking like an old woman. I love you and I will be forever grateful.
