This song was written in 1954 by David I. Arkin and Earl Robinson. ::: 1954 ::: When this 3 Dog Night recording of it hit the radio in 1972, I was 11 years old. I remember that I understood completely what it meant. I am white, and in my grade school I was friends with a girl who is black, and this song made me feel happy that the racism I had heard about was over and gone. That was almost 50 years ago, and we are still struggling. The song was written 66 years ago. The content of a person's character is what matters. Respect and dignity are what matters. Play this song for everyone!

Red and yellow, black and white. They are precious in His Sight. Jesus loves all the little children of the world.

The ink is black The page is white Together we learn to read and write The ink is black The page is white The whole world looks upon the sight The beautiful sight And now a child can understand That this is the law of all the land All the land The world is black The world is white It turns by day and then by night The child is black The child is white Together they grow to see the light To see the light And now at last we plainly see We'll have a dance of liberty The world is black The world is white It turns by day and then by night The child is black The child is white The whole world looks upon the sight The beautiful sight The world is black The world is white It turns by day and then by night The child is black The child is white Together they grow to see the light To see the light

The message. Simple. Beautiful. Unlike the destructive hyperawareness of today's times.

Can we all just take a minute to appreciate the wonderful instrumentation on this song? It puts me into a good mood, especially that piano.
  • Rest in peace Floyd Sneed. Sorry to hear about your passing at age 80. An amazing drummer, from an awesome band. ✌️🙏🕊️🥁

Three Dog Night, a criminally underrated band. Glad to see their still up there doing their thing, playing great music together.
