Bugling Elk Outside Tent Wants to Charge

We woke up to female and young elk grazing close enough for us to touch outside our tent. Soon after the male of the harem came within a few feet of us and stared us down. We froze, unable to do anything inside the little 2 man tent and hoped we wouldn't get impaled by the huge antlers. Thirty seconds after I stopped recording this video he ran back and stared at us for a good 60 seconds before deciding we were not a threat.

Love the encounter! Glad you got to experience it and get it on film, but "wants to charge".....I think not. Just checking out the distraction to him getting a little funky...

Beautiful amazing creatures, but I wouldn't want to be that close to them, or any wildlife. It can be so dangerous people have been gored to death. You were lucky!
