Here's a close-up bull elk that I encountered while deer hunting this year. Wide-eyed, I peered over my camera in disbelief as this giant animal bugled in my face at only 14 yards. It sounded like a dragon! I knew he could kill me in a second if it wanted to.

    what an amazing animal ! I'm an avid hunter but I dont think I could shoot him. How majestic, almost looks docile, haha

    Must have been an adrenaline rush!! Those bugles get the short hair to stand on end.

    This video was shot in Southern Utah.  The bulls here definitely aren't used to people.

    Looks like you startled him when he came around that tree, he was like whoa....where the hell did you come from? Not sure where you shot this footage at but here in PA they are so used to people from all the tourists going to check them out (stopping in the middle of the road is NOT smart....if anyone ever comes here remember that) you can get pretty close. I'm waiting for someone to get seriously hurt or killed, because they really push their luck doing that. Anyway my point of this was going to be I was on my way to a doctors apt. last year and I'm just cruising along, came around a corner going 45 - 50 MPH and laying in the center of MY lane was a cow and a bull about the same size as the one in this video. I didn't need my coffee anymore after that!

    In 2016 I had one bugle in my face. I couldn't stop laughing because it just never happens. He wanted bakery rolls. Really scratched my truck up in quartz canyon. He got bakery rolls. My freinds got beautiful pictures. That sound is beautiful.
