I have a time-saving tip: Buy sheets with a stripe or directional pattern on them (I like damask stripe), and you won't have to spend five minutes wrestling with the sheets trying to figure out which end goes where when you're putting them back on after washing.
  • A huge time-saver I adopted 10 years ago for our family of 6 was to only buy white towels for all of our bathrooms. No more making sure the right color went to the right bathroom. No more fading and biggest of all they all can be bleached. I buy the hotel quality white towels from Costco. Such a great deal.
  • I have one I learned yesterday! My roommate hangs a garbage bag in his closet so decluttering is immediate and not an hour over the weekend! This is such great advice!
  • I'm a homeschool mom, so time-saving is a must! When i cook ground meat, i usually cook at least 10-15 lbs at a time. I freeze the cooked meat (by the pound) flat in ziploc bags, and it's so easy to throw into a meal!

Cas, I really appreciate it how you talk about adulting adults 🥰. I’m almost 40 and I still have these moments of “wow, now I feel more like an adult” 🤣🤣🤣
  • My husband and I are retired. I have begun convincing my husband that we should start preparing a late lunch and eating leftovers for supper. Hopefully, this will be a time saver, money saver, and stress saver on deciding what to have to eat.
  • I have three tips: I marked my blankets and bedspread with a marker to show where the top and bottom center mark is and where the top and bottom corner edges are. This saves me from walking around and around the bed trying to get them straight on the bed. They are straight immediately the first time. Because the top sheet is folded over the blanket, the marks at the top don't show, and because the bedspread is over the foot of the blanket the marks don't show. And because the quilt has a pattern, the little black dots I put at the head and foot don't show. This has been such a time saver! I also used the clear plastic boxes spinach, mushrooms, and cookies come in to help me organize my drawers! I love those cookie trays! Perfect for holding toothbrush and paste, deodorant, etc. Why spend more money when I have already paid for that container and brot it into my house? Try it! I also saved the cardboard tubes from paper towels and fold plastic bags into balls and stuff them into the tubes. I have two tubes in the car and pull out or blow out the plastic bags and hang them over the stick shift so I can put trash in there. Keeps my car clean! I also put those balled-up plastic bags in the foot of all my waste baskets and pull one out to use to line the waste basket as needed. The replacement is right there!

Excellent tips! I use so many of these. Another great one is choosing your outfits in advance so you're not flinging things around on the morning. A game-changer for me.
  • I barely iron anymore: tip from my mum: if there are any shirts in my wash load, I set the spinning speed to low (400 rpm), take out the shirts that would normally require ironing, hand them up on hangers, and spin the rest of the laundry at 800 rpm. The shirts that are still quite wet when hung up, dry without wrinkles thanks to this trick.
  • I always "stay til the end." Its my favorite part! Your honesty is refreshing. Thanks for making all of us feel like normal human beings with your musings.
  • I can't get behind using pot liners or using disposable dishes at home to save a few minutes at when the amount of garbage piling up is so insane. I use reusable silicone pan liners for baking sheets, and if something gets stuck to a pot I just let it soak overnight Edit: Another massive time saver tfor me was to stop shopping "for fun." I used to go to the store to shop around when I was bored, and didn't really need anything. I spent a bunch of money I didn't have, on things I didn't need, and now had to find a place in my tiny apartment for all that stuff. Decreasing the amount of stuff I'm bringing into my house has been one of the biggest time savers. I don't have to shop for it, I don't have to store it, clean it, put it back where it's supposed to be or declutter it. Now I have a running list of things I think I might need soon, and only go shopping for things that I have thought about, carefully considered and decided, 'yes, I actually need this thing.'
  • Thanks for the tips! I’m a stay at home and homeschooling mom of 3, soon to be 4. Curbside grocery pickup has saved my sanity and hours and hours of time dragging kids through the store. I also cook a whole, bulk package of meat at a time and freeze what I’m not using for that meal. Also, if I’m chopping a vegetable, I try to chop extra for meals I know I’ll be making later that week.
  • I’ve been decluttering to save time rummaging through drawers. It really does help. The pandemic is so stressful, so why not make my life more easy? Yes ma’am!
  • My mom suggested washing per family member a few months ago and it's made a HUGE difference to me. Revolutionary! I have always just washed everything together… I can't imagine spending all that time sorting laundry!
  • @ellenc48
Especially your cleaning shortcuts have helped me immensely. Thank you for giving me permission to run the dishwasher daily, every when it's not full. As a former cheapskate, I needed to hear that this would make my life better, and it did!
  • We have so many conveniences today, yet it seems more challenging to get things done. My home is so easy to clean now that I catch myself doing dishes by hand because it gives me pause to think and relax. Go figure.
  • I am so happy to have found you about a week or 2 ago. You don’t know how much you’ve impacted me in this short time. I am already implementing what I’m learning from you. Thank you!
  • @am7241
You were totally realistic about how many minutes you save…. Not like other YT videos that claim insane amounts of time . Thanks for always being real with us! Good luck house 🏡 hunting!
  • These are great hacks! I even remember some of them from your older videos! However there are 2 that I won't do: voice command everything, and steaming clothes. I get better and faster results ironing than steaming, I can usually leave my ironing board set up in guest room, and it takes just as much time to plug in an iron (and set up the board) as it does to fill and set up a steamer. I am averse to devices that do voice command, simply because it means they are always listening. All it takes is the wrong people to be in power and suddenly your privacy is nonexistent. We still use smart plugs because they're great for scheduling things like Christmas lights.
