Without taking calcium supplements, my joints hurt and swell. That pain made me feel like I had bone cancer. For survival reasons, I need calcium supplements badly. I don't care about the potential and uncertain conclusion about heart disease risk.
  • Thank you for this very informative video. I have osteoporosis and I'm on HRT and my doctor recommended amorphous calcium carbonate ACC (a supplement). I was wondering what is your take on this type of calcium?
  • I have osteopenia and would like to take estradiol low dose in VT. will ask my dr in May.
  • Help! I have no idea what to do. I have lupus, take thyroid medication and HRT. I recently found out I had osteopenia and have been taking D3 and calcium. I have a heart condition though and I am worried about calcification in my arteries. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Best….. x
  • I am a 59 yr old thin woman in menopause with hypercalciumia (familial high blood levels of calcium, confirmed with parathyroid testing) and am to be treated with my breast cancer with estrogen blockers which can leach calcium from bones. I also have osteopenia and arthritis in the spine… all told this sounds pretty grim. Thoughts?

I just had a bone density test. My spine is -3.9 I've been begging for HRT for 10 years. I just turned 60. I'm sitting here with broken toes. I'm still trying to get HRT.
  • I am 75 and have just been diagnosed with osteopenia. My doctor has prescribed fosamax which I am hesitant in taking because of the side effects. I went through years of horrible hot flash filled days during menopause and still get occasional hot flashes. But every time I have ever asked to have my hormones tested so HRT could be considered, doctors said no. They told me HRT has been shown to have severe side effects, and they say HRT increases risk of heart disease, breast cancer, and strokes. That terrified me. Now I just watched your video and I don’t know what to believe or where to go for help in treating this osteopenia so it can be reversed. I am active, do not smoke, I work out, eat a balanced diet with intermittent fasting, take D3, K2, and many other supplements. I just recently got a vibration platform that I have heard can help strengthen bone, too. What else can I do?

What about if your on a hormone blocker because of breast cancer? I already have osteopenia.

Isn’t the amount of calcium in the blood tightly regulated by hormones, such as parathyroid? Meaning just because I supplement with calcium, it doesn’t automatically end up in the blood causing calcification of the arteries? Would love to understand this. Thank you for your valuable content!

Is there a minimal amount of estrogen that can be taken to protect against osetoporosis?
  • @bellarose8511
If you're a post menopausal woman with a uterus shouldn't you alos be taking micronized progesterone too not just estradiol alone?

Please were from Houston and the doctors were telling her to take more calcium even though she is high in calcium. She has Osteopenia and the doctors don't know what to do. How could they tell her to take more calcium if she has too much calcium with Osteopenia?
