This channel has improved my dental care. My teeth are getting cleaned a lot better which is preventing future decay.

My 4mm pockets became 3mm pockets this year, thanks in large part to this channel encouraging me to do the home care and get my butt to my local dentist and hygienist. ✌♥🦷

I used to think that a deep cleaning was just a better more expensive cleaning lol

I had one 5mm pocket after 14yrs of neglect. It could've been worse. I'm so glad I found these videos I've been learning so much here.
  • This channel has been such a big help for me! I had my first dental appointment in 6 years today and had to have a middle cleaning. Not a pleasant experience, but so worth it to fix how my teeth look and feel. I can’t stop staring at them and how great they look now! And the tips from your channel actually helped me get a good seal of approval from my hygienist and dentist! They were shocked, for all the build I had, what great shape my teeth and gums were in. I only had one slightly deeper than normal pocket. Thank you so so much for all this great content you provide for us 💕
  • Just had my first deep cleaning thanks to advice from you. It wasn’t bad at all.
  • Hearing that you can be numbed for a deep clean and break it up is making me now look for a new dental practice. I was made to feel that I was a baby. It did hurt
  • I recently got an SRP and I immediately noticed the difference no more bleeding even the day of when I went to brush and floss and they also used a laser on both sides of my mouth. Didn't hurt too much. Also, my breath is way fresher throughout the day! 😊

I hadn't seen a dentist in about five to six years ..( seriously , this is no fault of my own) living in the UK , finally I managed to find a dentist , had check up .. not much was explained , just the comment " you have several issues going on" made an appointment to see hygienist , but I was told in 6 months.. same time as next dentist appointment ... after watching this , I think maybe I need to see hygienist asap ... Thank you for explaining how things work..

So I went to a dentist for a checkup for the first time in more than a decade and that was about 13 years ago and he just got stuck in and gave me a deep clean, I had a ton of tartar which I never even knew I had, wasnt what I would call painful or anything but he was scraping around the teeth for a good hour. Luckily he said it was not serious, but if left untreated, over time it would lead to serious gum disease, The tartar seemed to come back again at my next visit, but since then ive never had the need to have a deep clean, so i must be doing something right!

I had one four . I am going hard core. Flossing, brushing, mouthwash, water pik, flouride gel and special toothpaste.
  • @sle81
great explanation. while i brush 2x/day, i am so bad at flossing and during the pandemic have not been good at keeping up with dental cleanings. hope to do a better job at this moving forward.

I've learnt so much from you Whitney. Here in my country, deep cleaning is called Root Planning or Root Surface Debridement. Middleman cleaning is often called deep cleaning by regular dentist and subgingival scaling by my periodontist. And regular cleaning sometimes can clean into subgingival area as well. As you can imagine, it's all very confusing when you call up the dentist and the receptionist say Yes! We do deep cleaning. But their deep cleaning is just slightly below gum line. Not the deep cleaning as you mentioned here, which is called Root Planing/Root Surface Debridement. I wish everyone in every country just sticks to the same name as per described by you.

deep cleaning is also expensive as hell compared to regular. motivated me to take better care of my mouth at least
  • @halesbellss
The middle cleaning is uncomfortable but not painful. Recently had it done and now I’m just spiraling mentally watching cleaning videos and realizing how hard it is to build a flossing routine and feeling intense guilt.

I’ve had Invisalign for over 14 months and recently had a cleaning about 6 weeks ago. I had a good amount of tartar buildup on my bottom front teeth, but my gums are still hurting 6 weeks later. I had the dentist take a look but I feel like they shrugged me off and said it was due to the Invisalign and i needed to brush more. I had a few cleanings before and my gums never hurt like this. Has anyone else had this issue?

Could you do a video on hydrogen peroxide and it’s benefits on doing a rinse?
