  • once he’s finished with this iceberg, Wendigoon will finally complete his transformation into becoming his own cryptid
  • wendigoon: i accidentally put all the cool ones in one layer 20 mins later: and for the seventeenth time, i'm gonna put this one in d tier because it's just a big squirrel
  • Sidehill Gouger: A goat that has one side of its legs shorter. A Tier Hrokkall: A resurrected eel corpse that lives in unclean water & can saw off your legs with its razor sharp fins. B Tier -Wendigoon

i’m scottish and did a solo talk on the kelpie when i was about 8 years old, i enthusiastically told the famous story of the child cutting off their hand while their pals drowned and the teacher was so concerned

Here in Austria there exists a joke about a "hillside chicken". A chicken with uneven legs that can only circle the hill and to catch it you have to stand below it and imitate its cry so when it turns around it starts to roll down the hill and you can catch it with a bag.
  • I cannot believe you forgot the coolest part of the kelpie myth, in that you can tell if a horse is a kelpie by looking at its hooves. Kelpies have backwards facing hooves, so even IF the horse looks like its facing away from water, it can immediately start galloping towards it anyways :D And that the mating of a kelpie and a regular horse results in offspring that is impossible to drown! Kelpie should be AT LEAST an A tier in my opinion.
  • You did the Kelpie so dirty it deserves at least A tier...
  • I feel like the intense disdain for sea/lake monsters is just ol windi trying to get us to talk about the scary ocean less
  • @0liver192
"Theres many guys that are way too cool" Oh Iceberg boy, this one's gonna be a ride
  • I like the idea of the kelpie as a formless water spirit solely because it would be really funny for a modern take on it to just be an unattended car or bike suspiciously close to the water

Around where I live, there are two "cryptids". One is of a catfish in our local lake who made it's home in an old car dumped in the water, and has gotten so big it can't escape, and lives by opening its mouth and waiting for things to come in. Another one isn't a living thing, but a ghost train. My town had a huge train fire, which permanently destroyed the line and resulted in the town's prosperity declining since the 50s. You can still hear train horns sometimes--this is due to the sound carrying from a nesrby town's track, depending on the wind. But it's still a strange vibe to suddenly hear a quiet train horn in a place with no train.
  • I can't believe he actually talked about the Grootslang. It's such a niche cryptid from my country but I'm happy it was included
  • Wendi’s kids are gonna have a hell of a time with bedtime stories
  • 19:39 The fur-bearing trout sounds like something you'd make up to make fun of rookies, like the "left handed" hammer, collecting "Spark samples" or Blinker fluid.
  • 10:52 "Some of my favourite cryptids are the ones you can use to trick or gaslight people." Can I interest you in the Dropbear? 28:27 "Australia's interesting because every animal in that country is already trying to kill you, so they have to get creative with their monsters." Can I interest you in the Dropbear????

Dogheaded people are such a cool aspect of history to study. They were prevalent in many places and many churches sought to try and teach them their faith. It’s fascinating because as society developed and people’s ability to travel further distances grew the dogheaded people always seemed to be just past where it was safe for a human to travel.
  • You can tell this series is a passion project. What a huge undertaking, a total gamble with how much time and effort actually had to go into the research, filming, editing. Thankfully, it’s hugely popular.
