Dr Gabor Mate reveals what he regrets about Prince Harry interview

Published 2023-11-28
Dr Gabor Mate discusses his regrets about his interview with Prince Harry earlier this year.

Dr Mate admitted he doesn’t regret doing the interview but the way it was conducted.

“What I mean by that is I had a strong sense that this interview should be free for everybody – it should be a service to the public,” he told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.

He said it was a “great discussion” and he enjoyed meeting the Duke of Sussex.

“What was wrong with it was it was put behind a paywall, so a lot of people had to buy his book in order to watch the interview.”

  • So nice to see Pierce keeping his mouth shut and actually listening.

I have emancipated myself from my toxic narcissistic family in the last week and its a load lifted from me and that gives me freedom

People who say “ my truth” isn’t always the truth. There are always 2 sides to the story,2 versions and omissions of THE truth.

You can be traumatized and still not sell your family. Doc handled the interview very naively. Good for him to apologize but it was a major mistake. Also I think a therapy session is not meant to be on TV, since a therapist is meant to be neutral and open to their clients feelings, which doesn't go well with a client who already used the public to take revenge on their family and make a living of it.

Harry didn't disconnect. He stayed very much connected by slandering his family and making money out of it. When you truly what to disconnect, you sever your ties with your family and live happily ever after, without mentioning them - because that's what you wanted, right? His behavior is despicable, unsavory, entitled, and, in the end, pathetic.

Harry was after a money making opportunity and then only recognized how selfish and self serving that was after the fact. I don’t think he is sincere or humble.
  • yes but Dr Mate, you missed the elephant in the room, Harry's addiction problems

Whoa, who would ever pay to watch an interview with Harry?!!! Comical

It was a scoop for Gabor. Where was the wisdom and maturity to not need to go public.

The entire Gabor & Harry event was really quite shameful. Harry’s disdain for his family is quite disturbing. He needs severe psychiatric health. Gabor never challenged Harry & his delusions.

Harry’s biggest mistake is disconnecting with his family in front of the whole world & making millions off of it while throwing them completely under the bus… this is not how one fix trauma.

Most of the world have a very different opinion of Harry too. I can not believe this man believes what Harry says is honestly said. Based on this as a nurse of 40years of age I would never go to him for advice or help. Stop blaming parents for adult children’s despicable behaviour. Prince William doesn’t behave that way was always there for Harry yet he also is out to hurt him Catherine was not there in his childhood was extremely supportive of Harry yet he now turns on her too. Why didn’t this man look at the influence of Meghan on Harry. More likely to find the answer there

At age thirty-five and thirty-eight and single, I had built and opened two businesses and owned two residential properties! I came from a single-parent family. You rise above what you are given as a child and make something of yourself for yourself and your family; otherwise, whose fault is it if you do nothing? You and no one else are to blame! Be exemplary and break the cycle! GG from Texas.

He said it was a discussion not a therapy session. I think this was confused by the media.

Greedy Mator regrets being caught out. We now see him for what he is another money grabbing celebrity.... Just like Harry

"My Truth"...once it's uttered, all credibility is lost. (Court oath says "THE".)

Harry, as millions of us, have had traumatic experiences and are still dealing with those traumatic events. However, he acts as if no one else has suffered from trauma. He’s brother also dealt, and probably is until this day dealing with traumatic events. I am quite aware that we are all different people and deal even with the same issues/trauma, differently. But this guy acts as if he’s the only one in the world, that has suffered. He had the privilege, the money to hire 100 therapists if he wanted to at his disposal, and at his wife’s disposal as well. But he and her chose to trash and sell off his family to the highest bidder in order to “fight” his trauma”. Thats not dealing with trauma. Thats called betrayal and selling your own family. He could had dealt with this privately like ALL of us do. We pay a private therapist to help us. Confidentiality!!! He’s a child trapped in a man’s body. And, unfortunately, he met the perfect person to indulge his ego.

How can you be happy after having hurt his whole family and publicly? He could just have gone to live abroad, quietly!
