Today we’re going to explore the history of Jonathan Ive. Where he came from, how he got involved in product design, some of his career achievements, and how he ended up as Chief Design Officer of Apple, the most valuable company in the world.

So Jonathan Ive is a legendary designer who was responsible for the look of some of the most iconic products like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and iMac. And although you may be very familiar with the products he’s designed, you probably aren’t too familiar with the man himself, since he’s known to be a private person who avoids media attention. But in this video we’ll cover what we do know about Jonathan Ive, starting with his early years in the town of Chingford, London.

The only reason I own an iPhone, iPad & Mac it’s because of this guy. The way he talks on those introductory videos makes me wanna buy anything he’s selling. With a voice like that, I would literally buy anything this guy sells 😍

I went to school with Jonathan and knew him and his family very well. If anyone deserves success it's him; a very clever and hard working kid, and also a very nice guy.

2:18 I wonder if all vehicle designers make “vroom” noises when they design cars...because that’s seriously awesome.

Fabulous history piece. I'm local and thought I knew most history but I didn't know Jonny Ive went that far back. I knew of Newton and Apple 'greige' machines and am impressed he stuck it out. He and Steve clearly had a symbiosis that will be hard for anyone to duplicate.

I remember when he won a Blue Peter Badge (which for a long time was a big deal here in the UK) and he described it as one of the best and important things he ever got. Kinda sweet really.
