There are many excellent questions and an "educated" host who is an actual deadhead :D

The title pretty much says it all. You might have to crank the volume a bit on this one. The sound is what it is. Peace.

  • The great Ray White, one of the great DJs, recently passed away. WLIR at that time was a wonderful station playing all kind of music. This is one of his many insightful interviews.
  • Really nice, funny and mellow interview. The LIRR disc jockey-can’t recall his name and I’m from Long Island, man—had A-LOT OF GREAT questions. Jerry seemed very comfortable with these guys telling them stuff he’s talked about endlessly since the days of the Jenn Werner Rolling Stone interview for the “Signpost to new space”book in 1972. Very Groovy scene. Makes you miss ole Jerry. But he’s with you. Call out his name and just start talking. Nobody dies; they just shirk the flesh and move on to a higher dimension. Come on, think positively, man. Some day you’re going to see him and not in some holographic side show. FOR REAL!!!! There’s going to be a pole shift, the planet will stop its rotation for three days and then start up again in the other direction. And it will be at that time my Dead Head Friends, that The Resurrection will occur redemption assured and all of the little kitties will purr……. Into the MYSTIC! Sing it to me baby.

WLIR, WNEW. Only game in town. I remember 73 & 79 Jerry The GOAT
  • I had the pleasure of being a colleague of Ray White while on air at KKSF Smooth Jazz, EVERY interview he did was phenomenal.
  • Thanks for sharing this interview. Was at Nassau colliseum 4/30/84 on the floor. The chairs were the folding kind. We folded them all up and made big piles, so there was plenty of open room for dancing. Good times!

  • Bob and Phil are starting to talk like that comedy bit 😂🤣😂 “Let’s talk about old times before it wears off….”
  • @Jeff4090
It's funny that they were joking about everyone wearing a surgical mask...43 years later it's the norm. Great interview.
  • Watkins Glen I think that's the one that outnumbered Woodstock for more people and I managed to get myself on the front cover of the New York times half naked dead center top dead center and I was probably what 16 and still afraid to get in trouble so I was just waiting to hear about that one
  • I went to Nassau Coliseum many times & the 'A-Team' security was always brutally violent....& my hometown shows were at The Capital Center in Landover MD. ....another venue where cops on horses abused the Deadhead crowd regularly as well! Great interview....thanx for posting this! ❄️❣️🌎❣️❄️
