Robots - 2005
In a world of sentient robots, striving young inventor Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) wants to work for the avuncular Bigweld (Mel Brooks), whose Bigweld Industries makes spare robot parts. But Bigweld has just been deposed as company head by the villainous Phineas T. Ratchet (Greg Kinnear), who wants to make all robots submit to profitable forced upgrades. In this animated adventure, Rodney and his friend Fender (Robin Williams) go underground to fight Ratchet's evil plans.

  • you're not allowed to disagree with our opinion because it's correct.

Fun fact: Robin Williams was a fan of Eva so that "big anime eyes" line was most likely improvised.
  • @darthbiz2095
All I remember about this movie is that a street lamp dies and someone calls Robin Williams' character ugly
  • 8:10 Transformers Prime made a valid argument about this. "Aren't you a robot, can't you build a new engine?" "Jack, you're a human; can you build me a functioning liver?"
  • @Furrball2023
If you think about it, Robots was actually a pretty dark kids movie. They take old out moded Robots, melt them down, and turned them into upgrades for newer Robots to wear. That's really creepy and very very dark.

“Robots isn’t a good movie.” BLASPHEMY Considering this is the theatrical debut of our lord and savior, Bigweld!
  • The Robots world is like the Cars world, if you think about it too hard you'll go down a rabbit hole

4:30 ok you can bash this movie all you want, but this is one of the best gags in cinematic history.
  • @IcarusMundi
Can we all agree that the Chop Shop theme absolutely slaps?
  • I just realized after all these years that Rodneys mom has what looks like a "headlight" on her chest. Wonder what she used that for, or if she's ever "flashed" anyone?
  • 2:18 my personal head cannon is that the drum was a felon who was sentenced to become a drum till the end of time

Let's see: 1) The soundtrack and general ambient noise was created by the Blue Man Group, and they apparently had a decently strong hand in helping the crew figure out timing of scenes 2) The Chop conveyor line is probably so the Junkers can separate by metal types to use for melting down into new parts 3) I don't care that the movie's nonsensical, I love it.
  • 6:58 Everything I've seen about metal recycling shows people breaking up pieces so they melt evenly.

"Old people parts to make new people" "I mean Orgain Doners exist" Im having a mental breakdown cause of that
  • I’m an adult now, a certified big boy, and I can see that pretty much all the designs in the movie are interesting and clever, all the little moving parts and mechanics, it’s all pretty awesome. However, as a kid, I thought it was all creepy as hell, with their mouth-seams and synthetic eyes. Again, it makes sense to me now, they’re like headlights, but it made kid me mad uncomfortable
