Damn, not only did we lose James Mcaffrey (voice of Max Payne) but Mittensquad in the same day? What a garbage Monday. I discovered him about 6 months ago, went back through a bunch of his videos. He really had a knack for that deadpan humor, there was quite a few times he'd make me laugh out loud over some silly thing that he just read out without flinching. Rest in peace, my dude.

Never thought I would shed tears for A YouTube creator. Paul started and defined the entire challenge run genre. They say legends never die and this man will live on in my heart and many many others. RIP Paul, Grandma Sparkles can hurt you no more.

As a fan of Fallout and Mitten Squad, and as someone who has had a major issue with alcohol in my past, this really bummed me out. It’s even made me realize how scary that period of my life was in hindsight. I can drink normally now but for a good while I was on that same path and it sucks to see people not be able to get better anymore. For anyone struggling with drinking, it’s possible to overcome it. You just have to keep trying everyday to find things to want to change and live for. I hope he finds peace wherever he is now.

It's a shame Mitten Squad passed away. He inspired me, and others on YouTube to make Video Game Challenge Runs on my own. My uncle had a heart attack due to being an alcoholic.

It's a shame, love his content. I feel he's one of the few people who can manage to make having a monotone tone the whole video funny and entertaining. RIP

This is really saddening for me. I loved Mitten Squad. He single handedly kept me interested in New Vegas for decades after I thought I'd done everything entertaining. I remember when he went on hiatus and how he shared to another creator that he had a problem and he needed to take a break to address his demons. I'm sad he lost his fight to alcohol. I hope he is up there with Mathew Perry making jokes about how it was all rigged from the start.

It’s sad to hear, especially the alcoholism. I never knew he had such a problem. Which strikes a cord with me because it’s something my family deals with. It’s made me swear to never have a sip of the stuff ever in my life.

I just got sober this year after turning 26, my drinking got progressively worse and worse. This is a sobering reminder that it really can take you at any age, a lot of people ignore signs of alcoholism because they think they’re too young, if you feel like you have a problem, it would be good to reach out and get help before it’s too late.

Alcoholism fucken sucks man. I've had 3 friends die from alcohol abuse but 27 is significantly younger than they were. For anyone who's wondering, this is the official cause of death stated by his friends "He went out drinking on Thursday night and he came home extremely drunk. He was lying on the couch, and passed out, and he suffocated in his pillow. His mom tried to call him and he wasn't answering, so she was worried and she came over and found him..." Really awful. RIP Paul AKA Mitten Squad.

I am going to miss Mittensquad. He was funny, his content was really good, and engaging. I have had family I lost to alcohol, a lot of family members in fact. It hits home too close. But may he rest in peace, the world is a little dimmer without him providing even a little entertainment for us.
