A Gun Guy reviews the new Extraction 2. The movie is a overall blast but it's not without some things that I think I should bring up.

Bringing back Admin at the movies because: 1. It's too hot in AZ to do anything else 2. It's cheaper than filming a gun video 3. Editor hasn't returned your phone calls 4. We actually need to know what you think of Extraction 2
  • I haven’t been this excited for gun guy reviews since the last time I was excited for gun guy reviews
  • I love when he hides behind the f***ing ladder to avoid the mini gun on the helicopter 😅😂🤣
  • Helicopters are very difficult to uparmor, you’re 100% correct with the 45 zipping clean through. They look like modified civilian helicopters as opposed to dedicated gunships, and ballistic glass is insanely heavy for a civilian helicopter to pick up.

Does my love for Admin outweigh my desire for no spoilers?......... yes, yes it does.
  • Chris Hemsworth can make goofy stuff look cool because he looks cool. Not being a bucket of lard helps a lot.
  • @FlankerAvila
Hell yeah, Just watched it two days ago. Movie was fun and had some cool guns but honestly didn't think it was better than the first.

I couldn’t get past the fact that everyone had their magnifiers flipped up behind their EoTechs the whole time. Also that Tyler has a weird UV flashlight instead of Nods in the prison. But I get it. He has sick hair.

Everything from the start of the prison break-in through the train chase with the helicopter reminded me of the Time Crisis games I used to play at the arcade in the local mall back in the early 2000s
  • What bugged me the most was that nobody was correctly aiming with the optics - they looked straight over, all the time

Years ago I owned a small publishing company that published genre fiction books in print and in full cast dramatized audio. We had some military and technothriller titles that had weapons fire. The stock audio gunshots were... not right. So, went out and had a huge range day, cleaning out the gunsafe and recorded from different angles and distances to build our own library. Sadly, I don't have the library anymore, but it was a heck of a fun day doing it.

This is a fun movie. It doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. It's an OTT action movie that is probably just a little below John Wick but it's still pretty top tier. I'm really liking these movies done by stunt coordinators. As for the "girl boss" scene, she was kept pretty grounded when compared to so many other tough girl movie chicks. She's gets totally beat up (and stabbed) and doesn't so much overpower them but sort of dances around them. She's shooting around their armor, uses the broken glass to her advantage and is sort of dancing around them. Realistic? Nope but it wasn't Comic Book Movie levels of ridiculous. As for another movie where the gun play might be somewhat more grounded (but still ridiculous in its own way), Way of the Gun comes to mind.

I didn't know there was a second one. More movie reviews please while i sit on the toilet eating my coffee

Have to admit I’m digging, “Admin goes to the movies”. Definitely keep doing these.
  • @Raunadraug
Love the Uncle Larry glasses. Also, Minigun recoil really isn't too bad when you're shooting blanks lol

I would like to nominate a review of Triple Frontier! Since we're already looking at Netflix movies, also I do believe the house clearing scene was fairly well done. Not to forget that the beginning scene of the movie goes hard. Please and thank you Admin! :D

Finally!! The Talking Vickers Glasses makes a return! It's been too long

Regarding the helicopters, they're Airbus MH125s. The cockpit area has ballistic protetion, but I can't recall how good it is ... However, considering how small that helicopter is, you can reasonably guess that it isn't protected against anything bigger than 5,56, so Tyler wrecking them with the M249B / minigun makes perfect sense
