Understanding End Times Biblical Prophecies #hebrewroots #prophets #eschatology

If anyone tells you that they know exactly what an end times prophecy means, take that as your cue to run away! In this video, we let Scripture interpret itself and teach us how to understand the language of the prophets. We look at a number of really important issues that you may not be aware of (or may not have considered) when it comes to understanding it. We lean into Scripture to help us better understand how we should interpret the prophecies about the Second Coming and the End Times.

Jesus is going to return someday and I believe all of us will be surprised and in awe of how he fullfills everything different than we ever imagined! Hallelujah!

Thanks so much for this! I hope this gets spread far and wide.

Usually prophecy fulfillment is not "obvious" until it's fulfilled... &, like you said, it's usually fulfilled in a way we wouldn't/couldn't have predicted. And sometimes a prophetic passage can be "missed" as prophetic until after the fact. Keeping things exciting God is 😅

Yeah. I taught New Testament at a Christian university for 24 years and this channel is always, always right on!
  • Rob..This was so helpful and informative ..I understand afresh that God’s thoughts and ways our different to mine…always a blessing to tune in..God bless ❤️🙏

I have a goal of reading Heschel's "The Prophets" this year. This is quite the helpful supplement. Thank you!
  • Thank you. Your teachings are very clear and accurate. There I go using a metaphor!

PTL brother.. Love the " transparent and translucent glass" example used when it comes to prophecy, awesome.. "that is the exception (transparent) rather than the rule. Most prophecies are translucent, they’re unclear" Thank you and blessings!

Thank you for putting this together. Looking forward to learning more about prophecy as it relates to eschatology. I also bought Dr. Brent Sandy's book after your mentioning here. If there are other books or papers you recommend, please let me know as it can be difficult to discern where to go to find good material on these subjects.

Thank you Prof Solberg... I belong to a very intense and impassioned multi denominational bible study. It is both a wonderful and frustrating exercise trying to discern between the literal and more symbolic prophecies. Praying that we will be able to be less dogmatic on the less than straight forward passages.🎉
  • I've seen people make it all symbolic and think Jesus is never coming back.
  • Great discussion. If I could add another point, there are times when prophetic passages have more than one fulfillment, or a part of a passage is fulfilled while another part of the same passage is yet to come. E g. The Immanuel prophecy, or the Isaiah passage Jesus read in the synagogue at Nazareth. I think the Joel passageis like that.
  • This prophecy reveals America in the scriptures! We can know "when" we are on God's prophetic calendar. It is written in the book of 2nd Esdras. Chapter 11 contains a prophecy that describes a line of American presidents, five of whom are still alive, and two of them are being kept until "the end." All of them are old men. "The end" is fast approaching. I have condensed the prophecy into a series of short lessons - my gift to you. Please allow me to guide you through them, step by step, and into understanding. Blessings to you and your loved ones.

Teacher, it’s ok if you don’t know we all have different offices in Jesus Christ, but check this out ““For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.” ‭‭Amos‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬
  • I've seen the Isaiah 66:17 passage as a description of those who were doing idol worship coming into God's judgement, not a mere list of charges against them. Also, to see a passage like the Zech 14 one come to fruition will be interesting in light Jesus saying we don't need to worship on a certain mountain or in Jerusalem. In my experience, lots of ppl from the HRM would often use eschatological views/verses to threaten those under the law of Christ to imply they're in the wrong, are going to be judged, and to lowkey Judaize. For the more racial-oriented sects, they would harp on the future "ruling the nations" passages and what life "in the kingdom" would be like for exacting revenge or simply reveling in the fact that they have (European or Gentile) subservients

I'm hearing Malachi. We think everything has already been fulfilled, but the Lord is the same yesterday today and forever.
