Coach Collet did not say that Rudy did not get a surgery. He said that he made the decision about the lineup switch prior to learning about the injury. Obviously, without the injury Gobert would have played more minutes but we would not have seen him play as much with Wemby against Canada and Germany. The main reason he got more playing time against USA is because of Embid who bullied the other interiors way more on offense.
