It's not Childe's Delusion that hurts him, it's his Foul Legacy which he learned from Skirk in the Abyss. Also the ones in Inazuma were mass produced there so we can't even say for sure if their negative effects are similar to those used by the Fatui mobs we fight as they are likely to be of poorer quality. The Delusion Crepus had might also have been different, but it didn't age him, it just killed him. Also if you read the manga again it looks like he was wounded by Ursa the Drake as well. It's hard to say if he would have died without that wound. Diluc used his father's Delusion for a few years though after leaving the knights, and he was fine. Likely because he is also a Vision user like Childe.

I already know a lot about the lore but this is really good to refresh my memory and fill in the gaps :D
  • Captiano is rank 1, it’s outright confirmed ever since arlechino is revealed to be 4, if you look at Childe’s voicelines it even has the ranks in order jester .0, capitano .1, dottore 2. Coloumbina 3, arlechino 4. In the cn he’s called extremely powerful or too powerful, and the absolute pinnacle or apex of strength, he’s the absolute enforcer and commander of the military, Childe already seen him fight, arlechino recently in her voiceline called him unbelievably powerful or very powerful, since multiple people already seen him partially display his power it’s safe to say he’s not a fraud or lying about his strength. Remember nahida stated 1-3 has power comparable to gods but narratively capitano is seemingly leagues above everyone else. It’s also leaked in his files he’s the strongest individual in tevyat not human but individual.

This was a real good video! I love how you talked not only about the harbingers, but the regular fatui soldiers themselves, and even their voicelines! so yeah, amazing!

Wasn't it that the "Thrones" have the power of the Dragons? Thats why Gnosis never were related really to the Dragons power. It would have been too easy anyway to take back the power then. Focalors needed five centuries to gain enough power to destroy the throne. That should show how hard it really is to bring back the authority to the dragons. Even Neuvilette with his full power probably is not able to do that i think. I really wonder what the remains of the third descender will turn out to be really and especially who it will turn out to be, if the goal really is to revive the third descender.

Saw this video! love your content ❤

They don't feel like antagonists at this point since 2 of them are playable and the game's writing/pacing doesn't help, I understand having morally grey characters but they were setup as antagonists at least let some of them actually be evil and not give them sad backstories to justify their actions.

Very informative, thanks! Looking forward for more videos! :)

Surprised you didn't bring up the narsizzinkreuz quest or that other Fontaine world quest with the automaton and melusine detective in the Sandrone section

I know this is before we know more about Peruere, but none of that was correct lol. She was very successful in deceiving everyone into thinking she’s a crazy untrustworthy person.

Dottore stays winning. Also, Arlecchino did NOT receive the Gnosis as a "diplomatic gift," that part is wrong. That's what she would like to believe, but if you talk to Neuvillette, he says very clearly that he gave her the Gnosis because he no longer needs it (he has the authority of a sovereign, thus never needed a Gnosis), and he did not wish to create an unnecessary incident between Fontaine and Snezhnaya over it, seeing it as an "object of misfortune." (Skirk also calls it this at one point, iirc.) Basically, considering all the deaths that occurred in Poisson/the people who could not be saved (where, yes, Arlecchino technically helped, but she also hurt in trying to attack Furina and terrorising her generally, Neuvillette knows what she is actually like), he didn't want to give the Fatui any reason to attack Fontaine or its people now that their truce came to an end (Arlecchino would have been very interested in not being dissolved, as a Fontainian, which is the only reason she helped — I do think the orphans are good-spirited tho, and definitely wanted to help, but she is clearly different and has a double personality/a more lethal side, which is why neither Neuvillette nor Navia trust her. I mean, she never even apologised to Furina for what she did even after learning the truth of all the suffering that she endured (Furina voice line about Arlecchino references the attack), there's clearly so many red flags about her but her Stans just ignore them lol. Even when Neuvillette said plainly that the Gnosis was NOT a diplomatic gift, but just given to avoid another crisis so shortly after the prophecy, especially since he doesn't personally need it. It'd be like someone currently squatting in your house fighting you over an old SIM-less phone solely so she can play Genshin through wifi when you have a PC you play it with anyway, AND a current phone with better graphics that actually has service, if you want to play it on the go. Yeah, the phone is yours, but at this point it's just become a source of calamity with this squatter trying to fight you for it, and you have no use for it anyway since you play on PC and have a better phone that actually works. You would have every right to fight that person to keep it, but what would the utility of that be when it's just going to be sitting in your drawer even if you do win, compared to her subtle threats to set your house on fire after you just had your house recover from flooding damage (that said squatter "helped" with, to both save herself and use as leverage to obtain the phone, not goodwill.) It is less of a headache to just give her the shxtty phone at that point on the condition that she leaves than to brawl over it, even if you could easily win, it's not worth the time and effort to fight for something you will literally never use. That is basically how Neuvillette viewed giving the Gnosis over to Arlecchino, it was NEVER as a diplomatic gift, and even Paimon remarks that she would have preferred to believe it was. Neuvillette isn't a tsundere type so he would have no reason to deny it was a gift had it actually been one, he just wished to protect Fontaine from any unnecessary vulnerabilities now that it and the Fatui no longer shared a common interest and would otherwise be headed for conflict. A gift, on the other hand, would carry a certain kind of honour with it. Conversely, the Dendro Gnosis could be considered a gift that Nahida gave Dottore in exchange for the knowledge that he gave her, even remarking that no one had ever asked to trade in knowledge with her (Rhukkadevata is another deal), and calling it "the stuff of legends" that people could trade knowledge with the Dendro Archon, but upon having her curiosity satisfied, she gave Dottore her Gnosis in an amicable negotiation, which was actually diplomatic. I still wouldn't call even that a gift, but it is certainly closer to one than the conditions under which Arlecchino obtained Fontaine's, not to mention Dottore got two Gnoses. I would say that the Electro gnosis situation with the Segments was a test of Dottore's character more than "leverage," if Dottore wanted (as he remarked himself later on), he could've pulled a Signora/Arlecchino and taken even that Gnosis by force, as Nahida would be easily overpowered by him, even without his Segments. (We learn this from the Dendro Gnosis exchange.) However, Dottore DOES actually help us out a lot during the Sumeru AQ, not only in bringing the Electro Gnosis to Sumeru to make it possible for Nahida to access Rhukkadevata's last memory and know how to purify Irminsul of its corruption (which she couldn't do before, with just her own Gnosis), but he also allows that to happen without incident. Even Nahida asks why he didn't intervene to stop them, and although Dottore remarks he did not want to interfere with the results of his experiment re: the fight with Scaramouche, that would have nothing to do with the healing of Irminsul, which Dottore could've stopped easily had he wished to, but chose not to do so. In that, he helped Sumeru a tremendous deal, although it is unfortunately not acknowledged even by Nahida, without his patience and cooperation, she would not have been able to do that as easily. Not to mention the intelligence he picked to exchange with Nahida was relevant to us, as if wishing to explain to her WHY he had to do what he does, and Nahida was clearly sufficiently convinced of the Fatui's nobility to hand over not one, but two Gnoses. Dottore being unwilling to sacrifice his comrades and instead sacrificing himself (in the form of destroying his Segments, which he remarks took him a lot of time and effort to create) showed Nahida that he could be trusted with a Gnosis and wasn't someone insane like Scaramouche was at that time, who immediately saw power/authority as a tool of abuse (I know people fell for the cringe AQ interlude, and completely forgot that Scaramouche actually has no respect for human life at all, and in fact attempted to kxll us multiple times, as well as Fischl/Mona/Watatsumi Island's soldiers, and the people of Sumeru, including Dottore, as he says he sought to "put that puny human in his place," even before the events of that cringe AQ interlude. He was just pathetic and evil, and no amount of timey-wimey fxckery/bad writing will erase that from MY memory. Scaramouche as a Harbinger was everything people erroneously think game Dottore is, because they cannot register the fact the manhua Segment is an entirely different person/version, Hell, their personalities are even wildly different, but the obtuse will continue to conflate them. In any case, Nahida also observed that the Segments brought a lot of conflict to Dottore's life, with their "doubts and endless arguments," as Omega places it. We know Dottore isn't at peace with himself, which is relevant information because evil people don't have a conscience and would be perfectly at peace causing whatever destruction they wished, Scaramouche and manhua "Dottore" illustrate that pretty well, even Signora in her view of Inazumans as mere stepping stones/her extreme hatred for the Archons and devotion to avenge Rostam at any cost (though to be fair to Sig, we don't get to see or hear her in any other context, but so far as we know she never questioned what she was doing and was perfectly at peace with herself in terms of her own actions, the events around Rostam were what brought her pain, but afawk she never thought of her own actions as going too far.) So their destruction seemed to be both a way to test Dottore's character and liberate him from this particular problem, otherwise Nahida would be insane to give someone she believed to be crazed and dangerous not one, but two Gnoses. This is why the Scaramouche "redemption arc" is such a terrible piece of writing, though people get angry at Dottore for basically no reason completely forgetting Fate is inescapable in Teyvat, and if Dottore hadn't been in Tatarasuna, something else would've caused the Mikage Furnace incident and Scaramouche's whining, even N remarks towards the end that it matters little whether a cat (Scaramouche) or a bird (Dottore) broke the vase, at the end of the day it is still broken and was always fated to be. We see this when Scaramouche erases himself from history, and the events he hoped to avoid still happen anyway, so even if Dottore hadn't been sent on that Fatui mission, some other Harbinger would've been, or some other event would've happened, and Scaramouche would've still lost Niwa/that boy, would've still been "abandoned" by his creator even if it wasn't Ei, etc. Aside from his research, there is only one thing Dottore REALLY wants, I would even say beyond his research considering he was willing to torch it for its sake, and that is to be on good terms with Sumeru once more, which when he was growing up meant the corrupt Sages, and now means Nahida. We have seen Nahida is NOT, in fact, omniscient, and we do not know what happened that caused Dottore to be expelled from the Akademiya, nor whether that was even fair. We see in many WQs/SQs how the Akademiya can be completely unfair, hell, the entire AQ was about that and we know the sages looked down on Dottore until he produced the Gnosis, so they weren't exactly kind to him. The fact they were willing to cooperate with him once he proved useful also shows they did not morally condemn him, but it could have been an incident of pure jealousy, as we see many such cases in the Akademiya, again, and we know Dottore is in fact a brilliant scholar, albeit not recognised as such in Sumeru due to his exile.
