Your hair is so stinkin gorgeous!!!! I know how you feel though. I can't wait for winter so I can start with my bun and scarves!! LoL! Maybe by spring I'll miss it! :)

You may want to give your hair a break and get kinki twists or some type of braids in your hair. Try a braid shop in your area. Sometimes protective styles are great for taking a break. Good luck! and keep us posted.

I'm currently going through the same thing. Remember, hair goes through "resting" period, where it starts shedding more and may seem to not grow. But, it's all part of the process. It's shedding making room for more new growth. Hang in there it will get better.

Emeraldnjoli had some good suggestions. However, Biotin won't stop shedding. It will make your hair grow but it will shed once you stop. Caffeine applied topically has been proven to slow shedding so try tea rinses. Just don't go overboard because it can stunt growth. Once every 2 weeks or once a week, left on for 3 minutes is plenty. I understand coconut milk or cream slows shedding also. Check out the coconut cream deep conditioners (aka coconut cream relaxer) on YT.

Hair shedding could be due to your birth control/hormones or the changing seasons. Using a conditioner with light proteins can help some like Motions CPR or Ion Reconstructing conditioner from Sallys... or you could do a heavy protein treatment like the Aphogee line. Also a deep conditioner with garlic may help like Keracare line. And garlic supplements are said to help. Im shedding too so i know the frustration.

Yes, the same is happening with me. I'm at a loss and I have no idea if I need moisture or protein. I just started using Wen alone with my oils to see if it was the products that I was using before. At this point, I am not even going to attempt to straighten it even though I'm getting bored. Smh.

Just a tip its suggested that if you take biotin you need to take B complex with it. FYI. Esp if its high dose biotin take high dose b complex

I absolutely love the Garnier fructis tripple nutrition conditioners. I bought all the old formulas I could find. Have you tried the Dryness Reversal Treatment? It does not have cones but mineral oil. My hair loves it.

the shedding is mostly likely from the birth control. the same thing happened to my roommate.

I agree it's probably the pills. Remember when you have any type of hormonal change our skin and hair take it out on us! give it some time and a change of conditioner and gel for a little while, things may improve! Feel better!!

I recently added a multivitamin to my diet and noticed less shedding. I use the Garden of Life Raw One for Women. It has a small capsule that's easy to swallow. Good luck!

Try a little Shea butter for some moisture to stop shedding. :0)

Girl Don't cut your hair!!! My hair did that when I changed my BC pills. Give it 2 months and it will go back to normal
  • @MrsSarahWalz
I think it's your birth control that happened to me ..face breakouts and hair shedding like crazy. It got worse for me so I stopped the BC and within 1 month my face was back to normal and no more excessive shedding...wonder if you are using Ortho-Tricyclen or Ortho-Novum.

I feel your pain. Have you tried BJs for moisture maniac? I've seen it there. Good luck!
  • @TheSoulScientist
Have you tried Herbal Essence Hello Hydration? I love it! Youtuber: aliciajamesmusic uses it and you both have similar textures. Hope this helps.
  • @nurib83
please do not cut it.. try moisture products, olive oil, rosemary oil, and biotin pills
  • @strike8490
