Thanks for making the bleeps loud enough for field artillery guys to hear.
  • This couldnโ€™t be more accurate of how recruiting actually is.
  • @roy6907
Enlisted with the army, few days later got a call from the Marine recruiter and told him I was already recruited and he cursed my recruiters name

"you shoot guns, drive a tank and you're a pilot?" Air Force A10 pilot: "I see no problem here"
  • @POTATOSOOPS
"When does bad day after bad day become a bad life" I felt that lol Most relatable line
  • I did three years as a Navy Recruiter in Chicago from 1990-93. The only other service recruiters we got along with were the Marines. Used to party with them like crazy, had the Staff Sergeant put some tequila in my coffee many mornings. This video was dead on the money 30 years ago. we would spend much time trying to qualify a marginal guy who wanted to join, chasing down medical documents, birth certificates. Great job on the memories.

Before enlisting I asked my USAF recruiter what he did with low ASVAB scorers. He said he sent them down the hall to other services recruiters who were glad to get 'em. Fast forward fifteen years to my peers homesteading as recruiters who did the same. Shit's SOP since ancient Rome.

This is HILARIOUS! Anyone who has ever worked in a recruiters office knows this feeling. But...JFC!! if you HAVE bleep words, do you have to crank them to 11 while the rest of the audio is at 3? Otherwise, fantastic vid!

Imagine building a school for kids just to see it blown up due to incompetence.

I nearly joined the Army out of high school to become a combat medic. Chose to be an EMT instead and I imagine it feels relatively similar in this crazy ass world. Sure you aren't being shot at but the injuries are just as horrific and the images never go away. Thank you to all serving both over seas and in the community.

"Can he pass a background check?" How the Marine Corps has changed. When I joined they found out my parents were still married "to each other" and I had never gone to jail or been charged with a felony so they said come back when the judge says "Prison or the Corps".

I always tell kids thinking of joining the military not to trust a recruiter farther than you can throw them. I don't tell them not to join, just to not sign a damn thing until they had done their research, talked to veterans (especially in the MOS they want to go in), and had a good sense of what was in store for them in terms of deployments, relationships, barracks life, etc.. Vet TV, while often exaggerating some things for comedy, shows a lot of the realism and raunchiness of the military. But also every command is different. Some units are less dysfunctional than others. When you're in a good unit with good leadership, it can make a huge difference. Sadly leadership is always shifting in the military. So just when you have a great senior NCO/Officer combo in your unit, your commanding officer gets promoted and sent elsewhere or your senior NCO gets promoted and sent off to some other unit and then some Jackass takes their place and turns everything upside down.

Thankfully I never had to deal with recruiting when I was active duty. I heard horror stories from a few people in my units who had, and their stories aren't that off from these episodes, sadly (and this was before 9/11 when nobody thought they'd have to go fight anywhere)
  • Just go to 8: 30 min/sec: Marine (toasting): "Semper Fi." Girl: "What's Semper Fi?" Marine: "In French, it means together... strong... like us." That dude is the shizzzznets... couldn't stop laughing.
  • @GarnWall
I died when he said "In french it means together..."
  • Bro talking like heโ€™s Super Special Forces ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  • Foreskins real name is Forsythโ€ฆdonโ€™t ask me how I know. Being a Marine with the name Forsyth be tough ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚
  • @skar516
Love how he said train how you fight then immediately get questioned whether MSG been the field or not lmao
