T.V. remote works great as well, get it close to the sensor and give it a toot. Your lens should darken right up.

Try with a TV remote, point and press any button (IR remote), mine is darkening instantly.

A click lighter also works. I have the exact same helmet. Grind mode: If I don’t get out of the grind mode, the tests do not work. The grind mode fixes the shade at DIN3 to 5 in most auto darkening welding helmets. There will be no auto darkening if the grind mode is on. The tests will have no effect so it may seem like the auto darkening feature is not working with the welding helmet.

Is this a good descent Helmet? I bought this Welding hood 3 months ago, since then everytime I weld, I get welder flashes. I have my setting at 10, then went to 13 and still no difference. Plz help, anything I am doing wrong?
