I almost didn't make this video simply because of how personal this is. But ultimately I'm glad I did. Mostly because: I know there are a lot of people out there that are struggling, hurting, and tired of the devastation and destruction that comes with this addiction. Alcohol dependance is undoubtedly a complex situation, and I hope that anyone who is caught up in the grasp of this cunning and baffling disease can possibly acquire insight into rising above it. Like I said in this video, there are more people than you may realize that are sober people. It's hard to believe when drinking is all you know, but I promise you, there is a better life outside of the dark, depressing, and lonely depths of an alcohol induced rock bottom. Despite this weeks video being different from the videos I usually make, I feel this needed to be said. I also want to thank you for watching this painful video and I hope everyone has a great week ahead.
See y'all next week...

I planned on replying to every comment here, but the amount of them is a little overwhelming... I have read most of them though. I love you all so much and appreciate all the support too! To those of you struggling with a substance, I hope sharing my story helped or at least provoked some positive thoughts on possibly making some changes in your life. 3 years later and I am still sober: https://youtu.be/kb8gLNYNah0

Keep it up. A heavy drinker for over 30 years. Decided one day that's enough, this is killing me. I was 60 years of age and dying. I just stopped. Now aged 92 in perfect health. Never had or wanted a drink since then. It can be done
  • 5 years, do I miss it? Yea, is my life 1000 times better now? absolutely.

Hey brother I’ve been fighting this demon for 20 years. Every once in a while I’ll rewatch this video and it reminds me of the pure hell alcoholism is. Thank you for opening up and sharing this. Reminds me that I’m not alone.

I quit today, after losing nearly everything. Starting AA tomorrow. Wish me luck.
  • @MattyRox
    Sober 38 days, hey it’s a start.

I made it 14 months without drinking, it was the best time of my life. Met the love of my life and planned to get married at the age of 54. I lost control and started drinking again. She gone now and well I'm not sure what to do but here i go again with not drinking. Anyone reading, please don't wait until your 54, do it now.

I made it 3 months until Saturday this weekend. Got blackout. Right back on track tho. Each time I drink, I want to drink less and less. Honestly, fuck alcohol. I can attribute almost everything that has ever gone wrong in my life to it. Thanks so much for making this video.
  • Who would "thumbs down" this video??....Wtf. There is nothing bad about this video whatsoever. It's great!! Thank you for posting this, it was inspiring.

I’m 83 days with no alcohol. And it’s hasn’t been easy. But I wanna learn to respect myself. I need to keep going.

  • @mike7966
107 days no alcohol.77 days no weed for the first in since I was 15.Im 47 now and listening to these kinda stories really makes a difference.I know I’m not alone and my path will be bright if I just keep looking forward.

When this shows up randomly after I've been really struggling, its probably a sign I shouldn't just ignore.
  • Thank you for this video, I remember watching it about a year ago and it was helpful to make me quit. I'm 9 months now! Thinking and praying for everyone else starting to walk the path of sobriety!
  • I will be sober 1 year in 10 days. Wow, everything that he says is pure truth. I had lost my job, my child and was a hair short of being homeless. I couldn't have done it without my parents dragging me to get help. I believe the most important part of recovery, far from accepting your problem, is wanting to help yourself. Because if you don't want to help yourself it doesn't matter if monkeys are jumping on your head. No one will be able to help you...great video and thanks for sharing!!
  • @satchrules101
