As a Filipino, it blows my mind to see so many similarities between Filipino cuisine and that of Indonesia. The Lupis is very similar to Suman sa Lihiya, both using sticky rice dipped in caramelized coconut cream. The Bika is same as our Bibingka. The same methods and components are used. Gudeg might be similar to our Ginataang Langka (Bisaya) but with a simplier ingredients of just coconut milk, vinegar, and young jackfruit. Babi Guling is equivalent to Lechon. I lived in Taiwan and have been to many countries in Asia, but not yet Indonesia. This makes me want to go just to try the food! I don't eat meat or sugar but almost everything else looks great. 😋
