Thank you for visiting Jaffna. I am Sinhalese and they are my Tamil brothers and sisters. The country had been divided due to politics but now we rise together as one nation. One love ❀️! Tamils are some of the most beautiful people you'll ever meet!
  • @sanjulasilva6912
Jaffna tamils are one of the most kind-hearted and peaceful races in Sri Lanka πŸ‡±πŸ‡° as a sinhalese, my heart always warms with their generosity ❀

Thanks for that great video Luke. My parents live in an apartment building, with a tamil family from Sri Lanka. When my father died, they paid him so much respect, and went with friends and family several times (who have never met my father) to his open coffin, to pay him respect. It was amazing and so touching and meaningful to my mother, my brothers and myself. I very much respect the wonderful people of Sri Lanka, both the sinhalese, but especially the tamil.

As a Tamilian from India, the culture and food of Sri Lankan Tamils is so interesting for me. To be honest the food is so different from Tamil food in India and hope to visit Sri Lanka someday to taste the Jaffna regional food.

This episode is really interesting, Luke actually went into the sea to catch his own food. I believe your food must be very fresh! Their barbecue grill is so big, I believe that it can roast a lamb at a time! The way that lady removed the fish scales really opened my eyes and I admired her very much! It’s the first time I’ve seen people use leaves to serve soup. Sri Lankan people are so smart! I love your intrusion into the kitchen to interview chefs, haha, thank you very much for sharing! πŸ‘πŸ₯°πŸ™

Hello Luke, new subscriber here. Sri Lankan-Australian. You gave that 'container' a fine name. Palm boat. I'd trademark that if I were you ! My parents migrated to Australia in '71 when I was 12. Members of my family have been back for a visit, but I missed out. Too late for me now as the plane trip would cause me problems post-covid vaccine. But it was good to see your video. Wonderful to see young Americans travelling to countries like Sri Lanka and enjoying other cultures. All the best ! Mike
