While it might not have been the all-action extraveganza promised in the trailers, and definitely not one of Guy Ritchie's better films, Ministry was still a decent WW2 adventure movie. But could have been so much more.

  • If there’s an actor who seriously needs a new agent, it’s Henry Cavill.
  • That "Anyway, Go away now" made me feel like I frequently visit a hermit in the mountains, asking a simple question about a singular topic and I get a full tale from his life story about it, sharing his wisdom one long winded analogy at a time.
  • Cavill in "The Man from UNCLE" is the closes thing to him playing 007

'Disappointingly OK' is a hell of a lot better than anything else I have seen lately.

Til Schweigers biggest achievement was convincing Hollywood that he is a good actor and the go to guy whenever someone is needed to play a german...
  • Adequate, yet disappointingly unremarkable. Good potential marred by uneven pacing and flabby editing. Well performed roles just weren't enough to elevate the lacking script. Certainly not a must-rewatch.

The man can't catch a break. First, his Superman gets axed, then he's handed a bunch of roles that are mediocre. Then his beloved Custodians get retconn'd.
  • The heart of the movie was how much fun the guys were having, which made me have fun. Sometimes, thats all I need
  • I honestly feel like this one didn’t deserve the gaze of this channel. Movies don’t have to be ground breaking to be good. This was a perfectly fun classic feeling summer action movie, that wasn’t pushing any nonsense, had tough guys being tough and bad guys being bad and was a thoroughly entertaining and violent romp that felt at home with classic WW2 action films like the dirty dozen, guns of navarone, or Kelly’s heroes. Movies don’t have to reinvent the genre they exist in, sometimes it’s fun to just get something that’s what you paid for
  • We all know what happened to Guy Ritchie - a succubus attached itself to him and sucked out his creative soul.
  • You know it’s serious when the Drinker doesn’t start with : “Ya know…”
  • ANNND the Oscar for Perfectly Serviceable Film goes to...
  • "The Gentlemen" on Netflix was superb; Guy Ritchie in peak form. Theo James and particularly Kaya Scodelario were both excellent leads.
  • @LeoJay
Henry should just produce/write/direct his movies at this rate lol
  • Congrats on the 2 million subscriber milestone! It's about damn time. Thanks for years of entertainment, especially all of the laughs.
  • I mean, I think this might be due "Jerry Bruckheimer" being part of the production that this felt like a "watered down" Ritchie movie, It's not a "bad" thing, but I was "entertained", and would still look forward to whatever next "experiment" they're willing to try in the future. As long as I get entertained, I'll keep trying what they make
  • The reason I think it fell short of being as good as Inglourious Basterds is due to the fact we’re never really shown the villains as serious threats. We see the Nazis succeed twice against people we are led to believe won’t bend to them: Hans Landa in the opening scene with the farmer and later the Nazi who calls Michael Fassbender’s bluff at the bar after just the slightest of mistakes. In Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare it felt like they were playing on easy mode.
