Does Shawn Sheikhan deserve prison time?

‘His bold and aggressive playing style’ Cuts to him calling all in with AA…
-
He was given 4 years in prison and 3 years of supervised release starting in 2028. He has to report to prison by January 1st, 2024.

He called with AA on a dry flop? Wow, that’s some talent.
-
If being a total jerk were a crime, Shawn would get a life sentence.
-
He’s been sentenced to 48 months in federal prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release. He must surrender by Noon on Monday, January 8.

Shawn got sentenced to 4 years in prison. 11/6/23

"Shahram Sheikhan grew up in Tehran, Iran" what a script 🔥

I wouldn't call Shawn a poker star.

Played next to him at a charity tournament once. We all threw in cash to help the kids and have a little fun, nobody there but him was a pro. He's huffing and puffing over amateur play, sneering at the old guy across from me who didn't "play correctly." I kept giving him smirks, but he never bit- a bully, but only to those he could actually bully. He busted out early and stomped away. I thought of him as a rich loser.

Really appreciate you putting this video together, it’s really well done! Love hearing about player and their story!

Wow, I almost felt sorry for him for a second, then came to my senses...
-
Someone who behaves like he did at the table, means I have little sympathy for him
-
Imagine being labeled for controversial behavior for getting into it with angels like Helmuth and Matasow.

Remember when the wsop aired on ESPN, nearly as it happened. Ahhh, the good ol days of poker. Enjoy your channel very much! Brings back lots of fond memories.
-
For everyone wondering why he was busted for pot it's because he had almost 3,000 pounds. Not exactly your neighbor stoner with an oz.
-
I thought you were gonna say his biggest accomplishment was 3rd in wsop main event but it was 3rd in 7-2 lowball lmao 3rd in some obscure game 20 years ago when probably 200 people bought in

Lol the slow roll on "sex crime against a minor" was a great writing decision. Almost felt like the guy should get a break and immediately changed my mind

I didn't start playing poker until 2008 and then only for fun but I recall this guy being a lot of high stakes poker TV but by the time I started playing more seriously in 2013 he seemingly disappeared from all poker and I forgot he existed until seeing this news. Interestingly Poker Go just replayed highlights from the WSOP Main Event you showed here and it reminded me again which helped me find this VLOG and now you have a new subscriber🙂

UPDATE: To those who are interested, he was sentenced to 4 years in prison (Nov 2023), and must surrender to the sheriff by noon on January 1st 2024. He is set to be released in 2028 with 3 years of supervised release. Apparently the police raided a business he ran and seized 3000 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $6 million.
