How To Grow On Twitch?

If you want to grow your Twitch stream, it is important to be critical. Being critical isn’t a bad thing, people say, “Oh don’t be so critical of yourself!”.

But there are a lot of things you can control and improve, such as your visuals, audio, and most importantly your content that you’re creating. Watch back your VoD and be honest with yourself, is it up to scratch. Does your mic sound good? Are you engaging? Is it easy to watch and enjoy or is there something that is off-putting? Be honest, push yourself to grow, and become a better entertainer!

Because at the end of the day, the only way you are going to grow your stream is by growing yourself and being critical in a positive way.

What Bitrate And Settings Should I Use For Streaming?

The easiest way to understand bitrate is by calling what it actually is, your upload speed to the Twitch servers.

Now you’ll need a higher bitrate depending on how high quality you want your stream to be, this means 1080p 60 frames per second will need a bitrate of 6000, which roughly equals 6megabits upload speed on your end being taken up

By lowering your resolution and framerate, you can make it a lot easier to stream, for example, if you set your base canvas size to 1920x1080, but change your output to 1280x720 otherwise known as 720p you drop down to only needing a bitrate of 4500 or 4.5megabits.

If you still want 1080, you can even just lower your framerate from 60fps to 30fps and then adjust to 4500bitrate.

The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and Gaming Careers in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Wild4games and Nutty.

Hey #earlygang and #notificationsquad! Hope this wasn't too harsh, or rude! Remember my videos are always targetted at myself as well, so I'm saying this to hold myself accountable, remind myself to work harder, and to keep myself from making excuses! Have a great week!

I find people get hung up on the term "growth". Growth isn't more viewers, more followers or more money. It's taking what you know and expanding on it, growing with it. I remember feeling like a king 7 months ago, but rewatching my vods and now realizing "Damn... thats so cringy..." End goal should be "How do i become who I know I can be" and not "How do I make a buck" becuase similar to reality TV you can generally tell the difference between genuinuineness vs. "Im here to be famous"

This is unfiltered 100% truth. A lot of people want instant gratification. Took me a year to even get close to 30 concurrent viewers a stream. It'll take a lot longer to grow from that too

I appreciate this video and no not too harsh. I know I am streaming for right reasons to build a community i can have fun and be a part of something and share a journey but i do find myself making excuses and feel hopeless, but I hear you and I will try harder and use your words and advice to make changes. Thank you

this is so true and it hurts. there are some examples of people with seemingly overnight success, that it becomes the thing to chase instead of just having fun making content and learning to get better. it's ok for the first videos to suck and the first bit of streaming to suck. putting in some work will make them so much better if you take time to watch and learn from past content you make.

Great video. Thanks for not crapping on an alternative platform for those who understand that twitch is not for them.
  • @jeronemoG
I would recommend connecting with the same streamers that play the games you do and are your size (Following/Community) engage with their audience and it can help you build your own audience, also dont give up after a month or two no1 grows dramatically like that unless they have a huge following from another social so dont get discouraged just keep grinding!!
  • @sorrysucker
Definitely true. Especially love the message about how you constantly need to be improving. Like for myself I just today made a stream clips channel in my discord for viewers to encourage viewers to make clips, then have a place for them to share their favorite moments from the stream with the community. Such a good idea and it literally JUST happened lol
  • @GetAwesomeGaming
honestly i've abandoned Twitch recently and just focused on YT and my videos and while my growth isn't through the roof i am growing and at least getting some positive feedback about what im doing. I think a lot of creators don't necessarily expect to be famous but just want to feel like they aren't wasting their time, like there is a path forward. Content creation starting out is a very lonely and often times unfulfilling endeavor and a lot of people just want to find a way to skip that step and honestly i can't blame them for wanting that. Starting out is awful but that's why most stop there.

Thanks for creating another wonderful video. At the end of the day the truth needs to be heard even if its painful.
  • @ItsBate
Great video as always, time to happily head down the end-screen card hole! 😂👏
  • @tigerezz_
I decided to focus on my animations, i worked on a company for 4-5 years as a animator and illustrator, and my youtube have been growing the last months. I stream on youtube 1 day in the week for taking a break from animatons, but also, if i found something funny in my stream, i use the sound of that clip to make a new animation. 🥰
  • @WreckSpecks
Do you have a video going over how to make quality gaming tiktoks? I just got an elgato hd60x and a microphone and want to start making short gaming clips from my sessions
  • @MoistTurtle
Truth is always harsh, but the moment you realize that you are not good at something and that you can improve is the moment you can start growing because there is no longer ego in the way. Thank you for the video and the tips 😊

Thank you very much for the content you put out and this specific video. It was a succinct vocalization of what I have been thinking, appreciate you telling the truth.
  • @Itsa22pewpewpew
I appreciate your tips and advice. I have a question about streamers who never turned on a camera or make effort to making their streams appealing and still carry 30 viewers ?I see a lot of small streamers speed grind while live and that’s a waste of time imo
