  • Years ago when TSA first started screening people,---as I have plates in my back due to surgery, they wanted me to take them out & put them on the conveyor belt for scanning! I told them: " I would if I could as they are a part of me!" I even had a doctor's document stating my condition. They laughed and said "Ok, but we'll scan you anyway ." I still get a chuckle when I think about it. 😅
  • Don't hang by the conveyor putting your stuff back together after screening. Get your bag and tray and move away.

I have a heart recorder. (Not a pace-maker) I got the full pat down (after a long wait) because my Doctor said I should not go through any scanners. I don't know what they are looking for, but this is a crappy way to treat "customers" with medical implants.

There is no chance of me ever flying anywere ever again , i refuse to be subject to this kind of treatment . and now that i have knee replacement for both legs it will be atomatic .the last time i flew was in 97 and tho it is the best way to go longer distances i will never alow myself to be treated so badly.
  • I have been a regular flyer for many years. Johannesburg to Edinburgh, Johannesburg to Australia. I have never once been searched or stopped. I must look like a sweet little old lady .

I usually wear ponte knit pants when flying because they're comfortable and look nice at the same time, and they usually cause no issue at security. On my last trip, I unfortunately chose a pair with ribbons going down the ankles through metal loops. Both legs of the trip, I was subjected to a patdown specifically because of those pants. I definitely know better now!

Is a dr note required for Inspire implanted unit for sleep apnea? How about metal knee replacement? How about an oxygen nebulizer and portable oxygen unit? And would nebulizer unit in a clear plastic bag count as a second personal bag item in addition to a carry on? Yea we’re old 🎉!
  • @mavismounds
Don’t wear clothes that have even tiny metal studs on them. I had worn a pair of pants with tiny studs near the waistband. I couldn’t figure out why the alarm was going off.
  • its a good but you dont talk about replaced heart valves or pacemakers...
  • @1wwtom
I get Fast Tracked through security due to having my Port ID's for my job which are already checked through the State Police and TSA.
  • Do metal replacement hip joints and the like trigger the detectors
  • @cliftonodom3059
Boxer briefs like Pair of Thieves brand trigger a croch alarm every time with me. The machine thinks there's something there that I'm smuggling
  • How about BLOOD PRESSURE TOOL THE PORTABLE ONE, WHERE DO I KEEP IT, ON CARRY ON OR CHECK IN SUIT?
  • @wearelegion1163
Ladies & Older people: Don't wear a heavy pad or Depends thru TSA. Wait until you're thru the screening otherwise you'll get pulled aside for an extremely intimate pat down

  • Is getting a note required? I am an amputee and use something called an iwalk which is like a crutch. I will be going on my first ever flight
