It's nice seeing this drive in the daylight hours, as my preference is doing it at night-time; where I drive from Vegas to Redwood City, California, with taking Highway 153 into Silicon Valley. An aspect I still can't wrap my brain around with that drive when looking at the roadmap: The halfway point of my drive is between Tehachapi and Bakersfield. On the map, Vegas to Bakersfield seems/looks short; from Bakersfield to Silicon Valley it looks like a longer stretch of driving.

The only problem is: Cares California is accually Ceres California. And Delphi California is accually Delhi California. But the hours of driving totaly makes up for it :)

The town that you listed as CARES just south of Modesto is really CERES.

I drove on I-15 and I took the Interstate 40 to Needles. I have been to one of these towns such as Bakerfields and Mojave.

First, thank you for making this video. I used to drive the Oakland/Vegas route a lot but usually took 5 to 99 thru bakersfield and then thru Mohave, the Pearblossom Highway to Victorville and pick up 15 there. I suppose I should have paid attention to your starting time but did you ever figure your simulated MPH at 10x speed? Thanks again.

I saw a lot of things I remembered from being out there in 2010. My sister lived in Fresno then. We spent the first night we were out there at her place. We drove to Mesquite NV from there. This was the route we took from Fresno. I remembered the wind turbines on Hwy58 after we past Tehachapi.
