  • I have to say Christopher Reeves is my favorite Superman but Henry Cavill comes as a close second for me

A Henry Cavill Superman sequel and potential will always be my personal biggest "what if" of CBM history. He was genuinely perfect for the role. But they completely wasted his time in the cape. Man Of Steel was such a great starting point for the character that we all know from the comics, TV, and cinema. And the worst part is that Henry absolutely loves Superman and loved playing him. He wanted all of the same things we did. And was ready to deliver. James Gunn better make a damn good movie with Superman: Legacy, or this will hurt even more than it already does.

Tyler Hoechiln needs his flowers for his depiction and role played as Superman!
  • I was never a massive fan of cavils superman, but once I saw him at the end of black Adam I really thought he finally looked perfect and I was so excited that we might finally get a worthy writer to give Henry a great script to work with. It’s a shame that e won’t see that but I’m still really excited for Gunns version of the character and I hope David correnswet gets cast
  • Henry Cavill suffered the same problem I had with Ben Affleck. He was perfectly casted, but had bad material. And that’s the fault of Zack Snyder and the writers.
  • I remember the first time I saw a production photo of Henry Cavill on the MoS set, he was standing besides a helicopter in front of a green screen, he was unshaved and had no costume, just some wet pants. And there he was: Superman. That was the Superman I had always wanted to see on screen. Like he was ripped out of the JLU cartoon and given flesh. I loved the Christopher Reeves films back when I was a kid, I still do. But to me this was a new version, one that no one could tell me was lame, specially when compared to Batman. No, I could just see him bench pressing the fcking moon. Hell, that 5yo me in the back of my brain still kind of expects Cavill to rip his shirt and take flight in the middle of a Warhammer interview.
  • I just rewatched man of steel yesterday and couldn’t believe how good it was
  • I don’t know why we can’t have two Superman movies, one with Henry Cavill & the other one, with the new guy. Just like they’re doing two Batman movies.
  • @bahmat
We have an actor who not only fits Supes as perfectly as RDJ fit iron Man or Chris Evans Captain America, but he was a nerd who respected the source material and brought that respect to the role. And WB threw the diamond they had away. SMFH. I hate that Hack Snyder wasted an actor of Cavill's caliber to try and make Edgy Alien Jesus.
  • Not gonna repeat what a lot of ppl have said already, but to me to be a great Superman an actor HAS to understand the character deeply & what has made him endure for so long. I really think Henry understood that & its sad he never got to play the more joyful version fully.
  • @pinoyjona
I may not be a fan of the DCEU movies Henry Cavill was in, but Henry Cavill was Superman. Not my favorite live action Superman, but the definitively my favorite live action Superman in appearance.
  • I think Cavill could be a good Superman if he was given the right script.

The Clark Kent glasses have much more going for it than "just a pair of glasses". Watch the Reeves version and it shows all the little tricks that Clark uses, not to mention vibrating his face at superspeed in photos when he is Superman, and there has been COUNTLESS issues devoted to all the tricks that Clark uses to differentiate his identities-I'm so over this argument with literally NO research from the commentator stating the disguise is crap. Hell, Cavill himself stood in a Superman S t-shirt in Times Square under the BvS bill board trying to get recognized for a day-with no glasses, and NO ONE knew him! Come on.
  • @NoirNameless
I’ll be honest. I personally don’t think that people truly thought Cavill was the best Superman. But I think they fell in love with the potential that he could’ve been the best. To me, he wasn’t around enough to really prove this. He was literally in 2 1/2 films lol. I really liked him, but I think it’s a little odd saying he’s the best when he wasn’t even in enough to showcase it fully. There was so much potential with Cavill to become that in the future. But since it didn’t happen, people calling him the best doesn’t make sense to me.
  • @Caffeine_Club
This is my biggest gripe with the 'new DC'. Cavill embidies the look of Superman perfectly. Gunn is making a huge mistake by ejecting him as the figurehead of the DC Universe.
  • @Gundam-ip9ur
Henry Cavill is genuinely a good person on and off the big screen. As a famous saying goes , the measurement of true pure character is what you do when no one is looking. Hollywood is just pure evil to lie and say he was coming back then black ball this guy ... evil times we live
  • @THerculez
I just wanna see a good adaptation of the character something like American alien, birthright or secret origins. He’s just a man with powers doing what he can. I think they need to follow the Batman and maybe pick up from like year 3-4
  • @Dr_1212
He actually was a good Suoerman
  • @ianmason6867
You should check out Mark Waid's Kingdom Come comic-kind of Superman's own Dark Knight Returns book. It puts the MAN before the SUPER and definitely shows why Clark must always put that first. Every panel is painted and beautiful. You'd dig it.
