With the fusion of nanotechnology with biology, medicine, IT and point-of-care diagnostics, some believe
that we may have reached a critical inflection point in mankind’s battle with cancer. Powerful new (cost-effective)
nanotechnologies are now emerging to enable early cancer detection, personalised treatment/monitoring, as well as the individualisation of the immune system of cancer patients (personalised cancer vaccines). Researchers within his lab dream that the full development of such technologies will help empower patients and doctors to engineer an end to cancer mortality.

Matt is currently a Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Centre for Personalised Nanomedicine at the University of Queensland. His research is dedicated towards developing innovative nano-diagnostics to help transform the healthcare system towards early detection of disease, and also to help enable the emerging “Wellness Industry” which aims to dramatically extend high quality human life through a combination of innovative diagnostic technology and preventative measures. Matt is internationally recognised for his innovative and cross-disciplinary research at the interface between chemistry, nanotechnology, biology and medicine. He has co-authored more than 140 publications, many of which appear in the highest impact journals in his field.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Prayers and blessings to everyone who has cancer or a loved one going through cancer. I wish nothing but the best to each and everyone of you. I would never wish this disease on even my worse enemy. Unfortunately, these techniques and new drugs will probably not come out in the next decades or so until it's too late. Funny how COVID vaccines get approved crazy fast by the FDA but these take forever, sometimes we might never see them at all. How many lectures and Ted Talks about cancer research have there been? You go back to this channel by years and you get these researchers (God bless their hearts) talking about new techniques and give us all hope. But yet where are these promising new drugs? Where are all these new promising techniques. Nowhere to be found, or their just going through their "testing" by the FDA. And yet the vaccine is approved within a damn year. You know cancer is a business? Yeah, in 2021 according to stats, oncology drugs brought in 176 BILLION dollars to big pharma. You really think that the FDA and pharma want you to get well? No no no, it hurts their bottom line. I was watching a documentary and an FDA employee was told by his superiors that their client IS NOT THE PEOPLE. Their clients are the industry. Until we the people stand up, nothing will be done. All these chemo and radiation therapies are all carcinogenic, and the FDA admits that. Yet these therapies are the PRIMARY ways to treat cancer. By 2026, it's estimated that oncology sales will go up to over 300 billion dollars. Chemo drugs are one of the very few drugs where oncologists can actually make a profit. The cost of cancer treatment is 100,000 dollars per patient (not taking into account what your insurance will cover). But there are economists that actually are estimating that this will eventually dry up the insurance companies. It's all a house of cards, that's why if someone actually discovers the cure, the FDA and Big Pharma will do everything they can to suppress that cure. They know that chemo and radiation f*cks up your system. They don't care as long as they get your money. Medicine is the only industry where people still get paid even if their clients die. They still get paid even if none of their treatments work. I don't mean to be a downer but we need the truth. I pray and hope that everyone suffering directly and indirectly from cancer gets a miracle. None of you or any of us should ever have to go through this. We the people should be aware of this and stand up. Instead of cancer awareness month, we should be doing FDA and Big Pharma corruption awareness. We already know cancer exists, we don't need awareness of them. But the corruption of these institutions should be brought to light. Bless you and everyone who reads this. I wish nothing but the best for everyone one of you.

I'm pretty sure no but nobody's going to read this but does anybody recognize the fact that the drugs that we use are simple frequencies if you line up the frequencies of the cancer with the drug shouldn't it be easy to uniquely take care of it sound vibration seems like a mathematical formula it's it's hard to stop crying when I think all of the deaths that don't need to happen God bless all..... 5 years ago and yet never heard now!!!! BIG PHARMA....
  • @kathb1683
Just wondering if this scanner could help someone who has had different cancers three times and is now considered “cancer free” again?
  • @jaymevogl5089
Stem cells cured my relative’s AML...after massive chemo and radiation
  • I have one question? acctually nanotechnology diagnosis is mainly on the cancer cells.may I know the other diseases diagnosis rather than the cancer.. plz clarify my doubt......
  • @acxx4
I like the technology, except for the Drug database, you should have natural supporting herbs and other non toxic substances in the database to give a one two punch. Cannabis, Curcumin, Blood root, etc....
  • I wonder if these techniques are available everywhere, or just in Australia?
  • @snowbird6855
Well its 7 years since this talk and nothing's changed that I can see.
  • This also calls for humanity in treatment which is sadly lacking now.
  • @trishhoney2172
Chemo only works on a few cancers, not many at all, you can heal your body yourself, you have to believe you can, and do loads of research, and get into alternative therapies.
  • @joeschmo5699
"one pill" how about one approach? starving cancer metabolically? and some targeted therapies on top?
  • @jlawlessify
when Matt says "its in this paper" at 21:04 which paper is he specifically referring to from the chem comm publication and who are the authors?
  • @gloriarod48
I have C.M.L. since January 2,2010 to present going thru alot of hardships. I'm tire fighting. I have other illnesses chronic back pain. I feel like I can't see very well. MY BRAIN is not functioning that well.
  • Have you done new presentations regarding CANCER MORTALITY? This presentation was done on 2016 and we are in 2022, is there something new that you present and show that CANCER MORTALITY is or will be changed using NANO DIAGNOSTICS?
