Today i'm flying Finnair's long haul Business Class, onboard one of their new A350's. I'll be flying from Dubai international airport over to the Finnish capital, Helsinki. It's an airline i've only flown on short hops previously so I'm excited to review their international long haul product. On today's trip report i'll share with you the background of Finnair, such as the other aircraft in their fleet (A350, A330 and A321), the lounge options, but most importantly inside their premium business class product. The food, the bed and overall service provision.

I'll also share with you how I booked this flight, as it happens to be one of the cheapest business class flights i've ever flown. As always let me know what you thought to my review, and which airlines you'd like to see me fly next?

  • Just Keep In mind that This Flight is Classified as an "European" flight and priced as such, hence less ammenities and meal options than a long haul flight would have in business.
  • Finnair has changed their service in all classes. On all long haul flights, there is only one meal option "to limit foodwaste". Vegan, kosher etc meals can be ordered in advance and that's about it for the meal selection.
  • Hello Mr. Trek, it's so good to see a new content. Since I'm disabled and can't get out anymore, you have become my eyes to see things I will never be able to. Thank You so much.

Finnair is my favorite of all. Since flying Finnair I even ended up buying for my home the very same glassware that is used in business. Also, the face creams that are used in the amenity kit. Finnair introduced me to these two great products.

Nice video. Finnair does not offer the full business class product on these flights. Upgrade from economy is only 10K points, whereas to upgrade proper long-haul flights (Asia, US) is 50K points. The service is the same as on narrow-bodies within Europe.

Sweet video! The reason there was no menu is because they market the service from Dubai as a “longer European route” and not a long haul. So say if you flew that seat to the US you would’ve gotten a menu
  • Sam Chuí has nothing on you! Your reviews lately have been amazing! Keep up the great work

Yesss man I have been waiting for this for a long long time. I was thinking about flying them next month. Great review man.

Thanks for the great review of our national airline! I have some thoughts though, and facts to explain some situations. I took this exact same flight in Business Class last week, and everything seemed the same. During boarding, when it’s ”gate open” on the departure board, it’s not really boarding but calling you to gate, and at the gate atleast I had a Business passenger ”waiting room”, so when actual boarding commenced I could be the first to board among other biz passengers. Now, the flight itself is actually categorized as a European flight by Finnair. Usually they use an A321 for this route, but now due to demand and ”leftover” A350s they fly the big boy on this route, also means no necessary stop in Hurghada. While this categorization is odd in my opinion it is what it is, and that’s why only one meal option etc. It does also mean however it’s possible to upgrade from Eco to Business for just 10K Finnair Plus points, instead of the 50K for long-haul flights;) Btw, speaking from experience always use the frontmost loo, it’s spacier and has a window unlike the middle business loo :) Anyway, despite everything I hope you enjoyed the flight, and when COVID is gone it’d be interesting to see your new opinions about longhaul flying with AY! Edit: One more thing I forgot to mention about the masks, Finnair updated their policy a few months ago banning fabric masks (only surgical/FFP2 masks withiut valves allowed) so that’s why you had to change it

Loved Finnair prepandemic front of the bus. Sauna in HEL by the way is not what it used to be probably 5 or so years ago. At that time it offered 3 sauna options (dry (very hot Finnish style), wet and Turkish) and the pool + relax zone) overlooking the tarmac. I loved connecting through HEL and spending an hour in the sauna )))… miss those times
