    It’s not web swinging related but the wall crawling needs a massive overhaul because it’s janky and there are places like the underbellies of bridges that Spider-Man should be able to cling to but can’t for some reason. He also struggles to get over ledges and exterior air conditioners. I recently played through The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game and despite its many problems the wall crawling was excellent.

    Something I’d personally love to see is the return of web climbing, there’s been times in my SM2 playthrough where I thought about how cool it would be if as you’re coming up to a ledge that’s too high for you to swing over, being able to climb up the web to gain the height and just barely make it over. It would be a cool way to correct yourself if a web line’s trajectory isn’t necessarily taking you as high as you need to go. Used it all the time in ultimate and WOS

    I'm surprised you didn't mention they should bring back the air trick combo quips! I didn't know in the Miles Morales game that when you successfully swing after several consecutive air tricks that Miles will react like "That was awesome!" Or something along those lines. Be cool if it functioned like a pseudo-style meter, to reward the player for expressive traversal.

    Not only would running on the ground be a great addition but it’d be cool if they added an animation where you could glide your hand on the ground/water like what tasm2 did or in infinity war when Peter jumped out the bus and surfed on water

    I've been eagerly awaiting your opinion on this topic, most people who make videos on the traversal haven't even mastered it yet and then say it's too easy. It'd be like loading into a competitive game, winning your first game where your paired against other people who haven't played yet, then quitting cause the game is too easy. Based on your clips you are among the higher skilled players of this game and so I think your view is going to be a little more... educated shall we say. Anyway I'm gonna get a snack and get ready to dig in to the vid

    Great video, it’s clear you understand what SM2 fans want from swinging. While I disagree with some of these additions, I would love to be able to grind on rails and poles, the idea never came to me when I was writing my own review, but that sounds so sick. We actually had some pretty similar talking points, great minds think alike!

    Number one thing for me is much improved parkour. This means upgrading the environment too, of course. Next, better wall and ceiling crawling, crawling down from ledges, etc. Finally, of course, a much bigger, more detailed, and reactive city. Like, if I land on someone’s balcony and they’re there, they need to freak out a bit.

    I would add improving wall and ceiling movement. Wall crawling can be somewhat janky at some points, so make wall crawling seamless. And allow walking and running on walls and ceilings as if you are on level ground. That would be intense.

    One thing I loved about the first Spider-Man game is the car chases were you swing on top of a speeding vehicle and take out the criminals one by one as they peer out the window before stopping the car with brute strength,it gave us more control as if we were actually there. They did keep this in sm2 but it’s kinda been downgraded, it’s either one or two button presses and then it’s done, where as in the first game there was the button presses to take out the bad guys before doing the quick time event to stop the car. I don’t know if they changed this because people complained about it or they just felt like it.

    I agree with everything mentioned minus the web shooter refills as long as it isn’t forced. Just add all of that and wall combat like in web of shadows and we’re set 👍

    Web Tricks! - Hold Square + any direction while holding R2 to do tricks on the web Charge Jump from a Web Swing/Doesnt let go until you press jump or release the trigger. (maybe R2/Square/Up could make him pull himself upwards with multiple webs like he does in the comics, movies, and even these games cutscenes)

    İ realy don't understand people wanting to have spiderman 2 ps2 physics. Like, realistic physics does not equal fun. İf that was the case sunset overdrive would be boring as fuck
  • A lot of these don’t seem too outrageous the swinging is already amazing but one thing I would add is more diverse trick system similar to skate 3

    I love this video and I agree with everything you said. However, being able to wall run down a building is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! Imagine being able to wall run down a building, web zip on it to gain speed, and then charge jump off that wall. It could also lead to some cool combos in combat, basically, look at Web of Shadows to see what I mean.

    Insomniac should add an optional left and right trigger use for left and right web swinging … and switch slo mo to L1 At least make it an option for button layout at the very least it would for sure make web swinging more engaging and fun!!
