I love how you broke down the whole process of you getting your (UX/UI) Product Design role - You basically UX'd your UX job. You were also at a huge advantage of having a coding background - that makes you more competitive since you understand what engineers need. I hope you embrace and recognize your skillset is amazing. What a turnaround time, Congratulations!!!

Thank you so much for the uncut insightful content! This definitely helps a lot since I am applying for interships and jobs without a degree and even tho I have a dedicated portfolio of myself in UX design, I feel like it is literally impossible to get myself an interview or get my portfolio a review without any educational background. But, whatever I will keep on moving foward! Thank you and great talk!

I’m so happy I found your channel! I am also based in Montreal and am starting my journey to transition into UX design from Marketing. This is the most relatable content I have found to date. Looking forward to your next videos!!

Thank goodness! Just when I was feeling like giving up, you appeared! Thank you, Helen, for sharing all your generous experiences! Your authenticity and inspiration truly resonate with me. I completely align with your mindset in this video. Currently, I am actively seeking an internship in UI/UX, despite having no prior experience in this field. I only have a portfolio in landscape art design, and I've been trying to apply for internships, but it is really challenging to make my resume and portfolio stand out to HR. In your video, I realized the importance of following the job requirements and crafting a tailored CV. PS: As a foreigner, I really hope my English proficiency can be as strong as yours.

Great video, I’m doing HTML at my work, no experience but I’m learning to edit our pro source page, but I’m thinking about UX design though. I love UI stuff. 😊

super motivating to watch! although im not un UX UI, it's super fascinating to learn about other industries and roles like this 😄
  • Thank you for a great insight into how you got a start! It's very inspiring :) I would love to see a video in real time, with no edits of how you design a UI in figma from start to finish. Showing the keybindings pressed also would be great in the video for us newbies :)

Loved your video and the breakdown of your UX/product design journey 😍 I also transitioned to UX in 2020 but had a different path from my architectural engineering background 👋🏻
