Long awaited Episode 5 of the Catch and Cook and Camp series. I drove up north to Siskiyou County and visited a couple nice lakes under Mt. Shasta. After catching a nice meal and cooking the fish up outdoors, I drove east to the McCloud River. A beautiful river with areas of take and areas of catch and release only. Hope you enjoy the video!

I dont even fish and I've been staying up until like 3am watching fishing videos the past month. I finally gave in and asked my Dad if he wanted to go fishing again because he used to take me fishing a lot when I was younger when we would go camping and stuff... And we're going to go fishing for Trout and Crawdads next weekend! Thanks for the great content, and keep being awesome bro.

This is why I love fisherman. They are genuinely always trying to help others out when they can and always do it out of the goodness of their hearts

That drone shot in the beginning where it flew up from the road above to that epic view. It's shots like those that make videos stand out. One of your best vids to date Matts.

Flyfishing tip: Forgot this one until I saw you plowing through the bush. Walk with your rods pointing behind you. The rod will follow in your path like a train with very little snagging. Pointing ahead is very difficult as you try and watch your step and watch the rod tips. Give it a try, you will be amazed. I know I was. Cheers from B.C.

Your videos make me have that feeling of when I fished with my dad when I was younger, It is one of the very few good memories I have of him. I thank you for that. Like someone said in the comments you are the Bob Ross of fishing.

Dude you know what’s so weird. I’ve never gone fishing never seemed that interested into it but dude this channel is amazing
  • Your channel has changed my life. You have encouraged me to go out and buy my own rode. I’ve fished before with my youth rode when I was younger and I fished in cub scouts and at Boy Scout camp but not much outside of that. Now me and my friends (who already fish) are going out much more. We even want to do a catch and cook like you haha. I’m writing this to tell you how much you channel impacts people and I thank you for that.

Why aren’t we talking about how nice that guy was who gave him pointers. So sweet 🖤

“...Idk what this thing is but It gives me the creeps” *proceeds to grab and hold it😭😭

The fishing community is by far the best group of people you could ever be around everyone is always so helpful I've been around all shades of people and have nothing negative to say about fellow fishermen.
  • This has to be my favorite kind of video you make. I've been waiting for one of these since you made the video of you sleeping in the hammock. Now here it is, I've watched it twice already because I love the scenery. I also like it because I've been fly fishing for about a year and a half now and let me tell you I can see all the mistakes I was making when I was trying to teach myself the art of fly fishing, but don't worry you will get it in no time. You will be surprised at how many good people like the guy that helped with your setup you will run into. Most of what I know now is from good people like that. Just make sure to return the favor if you ever see someone that knows less than you, even if it's not much, teaching someone a little hint might keep them motivated enough to continue learning, instead of giving up. Thank you for uploading this awesome video that I can't stop watching keep doing what you do Matts.

When he scrapes the pan at the end of the meal is satisfying. I feel full just listening. Lol
  • PLEASE keep these fresh water catch and cooks in Nor Cal going! I LOVE them. Your adventures are the best.
