Recently retired warden here California penal code 25640 describes the exemption to the prohibition of concealed carry of a firearm for licensed hunters and anglers. So while fishing, concealed carry by a licensed angler is legal. I always recommend an angler print a copy of that exemption and keep it with them because I have found many deputies/police/CHP are not aware of that exemption. Additionally, while on federal land avoid carrying into any structure of any kind.

I worry less about four legged animals than I do two-leggers nowadays.
  • This is the paramedic in me but you are forgetting one vital piece of equipment for safety man. A HELMET!!!! You can't call us for help if you are suffering from a TBI man. Its the one thing people forget that will actually save your life! Love the video as always. This wilderness ones are really fun to watch. Protect the melon.
  • Matt I been watching you for years man and just your whole demeanor of being calm collected and relaxed is so infectious on my worst days when I pull up one of your videos my whole mood changes and feels like I’m kickin it with an old friend. I’m in the bay too hopefully I can run into you one day. Keep doing you man

I use the Hard Cast Flat Nose rounds in Idaho while in the woods; Hollow points may work on a bear without a fat layer (such as right out of their den in the Spring) but otherwise the hollow point will splatter the fat layer and may not not penetrate into anything vital... and it really aggravates the bear! I really like the copper Lehigh projectile that is loaded by Underwood. You have the best cinematography of any YouTube sports channel... your layout and angles with your drone are the best. Thank you!

I officially nominate Matt for a guest appearance on the Meateater podcast. He brings a different prospective to the outdoor/hunting & fishing world; a city boy just trying to relish in what mother nature provides. And while producing great video content.

Great caliber choice!! Many people are not familiar with the the 10mm cartridge but this caliber is a powerhouse round that falls into the Magnum category. My Glock 29 is my EDC (Everyday Carry), my Glock 20 is my backwood gun, and my Glock 40 MOS is my big game/dangerous game hunting gun. FYI, when carrying, make sure you load your mag with copper or lead free rounds. When you carry, especially when in the forest, you're subjecting yourself to hunting regulation. Carrying copper or lead free ammo will save you from a headache with legality issues.
  • Thank you Sir for the time and effort you put into each and every one of your videos while still also living your life with your family! ALWAYS A GREAT ADVENTURE WITH YOU!
  • It's crazy to see how far you've taken this channel, this is like a whole movie.
  • Love you and your videos so much! More than one knows. For over 2 years you’ve provided me with zen, comfortable, and interesting videos. Thank you and keep happy!
  • I will never have anything bad to say about this man. Most entertaining and realest guy out there, bike looks insane and still man enough to say it has some nicks and nacks and still wants to improve it before release. Clean shirts also super fire 🔥
  • Awesome video Matt so nice and peaceful outdoors. You right though having a peace of mind having a firearms accessible makes for an enjoyable experience. Anyways epic video again as usual stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas

I’m glad you posted this because I always wondered being in deserted places, maybe camping for days alone. Thank you for this content

You are very brave on this cliff and abyss road. 28:49 seconds is a story that brings a lot of emotions and impressions from a cinematic perspective, you also love the wild deer when you tell it to calm down and call it family. Respect the video and respect you too.

I was fishing Lake Mary at Mammoth lakes 4 years ago. Upon returning to the parking lot a Sheriff was there and saw I was wearing my Colt .45 Combat Commander. He laughed and said, why the gun? There’s no bears here! I told him it’s not for bears, and he said, what’s it for? I said to him, have you ever seen the movie Deliverance?
  • The far away shot of you driving on that narrow road was killer 🤯. And the bike is looking awesome, can’t wait to see what more you do with it
  • Reminds me when I was younger my father would take my sister's and I to Yosemite and the road there was crazy! Miss those days. Keep doing what you're doing matt! Been watching you for years now.

Nice. I have been watching your videos for over 5 years now and I am so glad and relieved to see you arming yourself to protect your life in the wild. You can never know if or when a 4 or 2-legged creature is out of its mind, bent on making you their next kill or meal will be just around the next bend of the trail. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Love your vids bro. God bless.
