I love your mobile setup. I would love to do the same exact thing for my next vehicle, an AWD flat top conversion van. I also had the same problem with a barrel spring on my 102". Flat SWR without. You just gave me so many ideas. Thanks man. Waving at you from NW GA! (KD2MOT/404Roadblock) 73

Number one beautiful rig, number to a set of lockers that truck will go anywhere, number three I love the 102 whip best Antenna ever. And my final comment I would not be able to sleep at night with all that equipment in my truck people suck, and I have a habit of taking things that don’t belong to them.

The lack of a spring on the 102” whip isn’t a concern. I used one for many years on a pick up truck without one. The whip was installed on the right rear bumper and the SWR was flat, around 1.2:1, from CB channel one up to the ten meter band. Those whips, if provided an adequate RF ground, seem broad banded or at least mine was. Adding a spring would make my antenna resonant at lower frequencies than what I operated on and would cause my SWR to climb at highway speed due to the antenna lying nearly flat.

Man, I sure wish the Beartracker was at the truck stop!!! I just need 1 or 2 vhf freqs besides wx. Gotta be a channel programming mod for the schweet 980.

Love the console that holds the radios and mics how do you build a console like that for the radios I want to make one for my dodge Charger someday soon
