Order 65 wasn't just a distraction to excuse order 66. It was also Palpatine's backup plan if he lost his power play for chancellor against Valorum.
  • The Jedi: executes Order 65 Palpatine: You weren't supposed to do that... They weren't supposed to do that...

Something so satisfying about Rex getting the kill, the clones deserved justice for all that was done to them!
  • Any story that ends with Rex avenging Fives and all of his fallen brothers is a great story.

Just a fun idea: What if Palpatine accidentally executed order 65 instead of order 66 in Revenge of the Sith?

Except for one teeny tiny detail. With Palpatine gone, Padme wasn’t in danger of dying in child birth. That was his ploy to get Anakin to turn to the dark side.

16:01 it would've been insanely funny if you referenced one of SLJ's lines. "Windu Pointed his own lightsaber and yelled "WASTE THE MOTHERF***ER!!" to the clones"

I love the thinking of Anakin beeing not a idiot for once

I honestly think that Order 65 is one of those contingency orders that exists purely for the Senate to look at it and say, "well, that all makes sense." I don't think it was ever actually something that the Clones were taught to do. They were made because of the Sith, and I heavily doubt that Palpatine would let that one slide by, even if it would just be an inconvenience for him.

Please.... Almost all the clones would be robotic. Somewhere deep in Fox, there's a bit of him doing this happy dance. Fox HATED Palpatine, utterly.

The 150 Orders were all very well known to the Senate and Jedi. The whole reason they exist is for the other 149 to mask Order 66, with Order 65 being the greatest mask as it makes it seem like they are just making every contingency plan they might need. Palpatine was incredibly clever like this, making his plan right under everyone’s nose and hidden in plain sight. The Senate and Jedi didn’t know, however, that the inhibitor chips enforced the 150 Orders if ever executed. Clones could not disobey the Order(s). Nobody except a very select few and the Kaminoans knew of the chips.

This brought me to tears... not only having a happy ending to Anakin and Padme, but also having Rex deal the killing blow to Palpatine - so poetic!

Anakin: Execute 65. Fox: exhilarated YES SIR! Edit: Thorn goes out like a boss in every continuity.

pretty good story, and though I do think Palpatine would have sensed Rex, I was hoping it would be a clone that killed him (preferably Fox but I'm fine with Rex) so I'll accept it.

The idea that mace and anikin can feel that they are not just following orders, but are literally forced to do it. Great touch
