It was just the two of us for Thanksgiving this year because our three grown kids spent it with their in-laws (they’ll be with us for Christmas this year) so I really missed the kitchen camaraderie! I spaced out the cooking over three days so it was easy…but not as much fun!

Hi Shannon. What a lovely video of you and your mother preparing your thanksgiving meal. I really like your mother, she seems such a lot of fun to be around. I really miss my mother, she passed away 7 years ago. We were as close as you and your mother are. It was lovely to see your little one crawling also. How fast they grow up. We have harvest festival here in England but it’s certainly not anywhere on your scale in America. I always make a pumpkin pie as my mother did. You two are such a treat🥰🇨🇦we do thanksgiving in early October along with our harvest time it’s nice to spend out the holidays a little.

I cooked the yams for so long, I didn’t have to mash them. I am a lazy cook. 😏 Tip to save electricity/gas: Microwave first then into the oven with the pie and turkey. BTW, I love your videos with your mom, she is so funny.

It sure looks a lot easier when you don't cook the turkey. I'm always stressed trying to get the baked things completed when the turkey takes up so much time. I baked my pies and sweets the day before. I also set up my table with China etc the day before too. Happy holidays!

That hack with the butter did not work for me either. I use the microwave soften butter feature. You two always crack me up. lol.

Happy Thanksgiving!  With cookies you don't want to melt the butter down. Keep it cold and when mixing not all the way through leaving little chunks of butter. When it cooks it will then melt that butter down and make your cookies so moist and yummy!!!!
