I love your older kitchen...you have made it adorable and easy to use and its very cheerful! New and shiny isn't always necessary to love a kitchen.

I like your point about over-organizing and how you prefer functional and frugal choices over unnecessarily aesthetic and costly ones, like decanting pantry items that are behind closed doors.
  • I live in a small older home too. Not lots of closet space, so I always have to be on top of things. Just loaded up my car with donations! Love your videos, they keep me motivated 😃
  • Thank you for saying that you don’t have to run out and buy all these organizational hacks that so many are telling people to do!! You can look around our home and find plenty of things that can be used… or our can make them out of something that you might already have… thank you for your inspirational message!!

I like your kitchen. It’s large, clean, organized, and above all unpretentious. I love those old cabinets, they are solid.
  • I love the thoughtful storage you have added to your home, as well as the fresh, cheerful look you have created.
  • Love your common sense way of living in your home. I live in an older home, many of your ideas will work for me too. Thanks

I love your vintage kitchen. You and your husband have really made great improvements in your home.

Thank you, Shannon, for having us go back & revisit areas! As our lives change, the organization changes too! Great inspiration!😊

You have succeeded in making it "as cute as possible"! I would love to give my 1950's house a make-over like yours. It's lovely.
  • I live in my grandparent's house built in 1920. When we first moved here 36 years ago we made due with what we had. We had a closet that used to hold an ironing board and I used to hold my children's baby food. We had old drawers and closets in kitchen but we painted and cleaned. Now it looks a lot different but you can make your house functionally with what you have....It has take us a long time but it is worth it to get your house the way you want it. Love your you channel. • Bins are a game changer for me. All of my cabinets are super deep and things would get pushed to the back and lost or forgotten. Using a bin creates a “drawer” that I can easily slide in and out as needed and everything stays together.

I Ike your idea of not being so perfectionist with keeping your home tidy and clean. Some videos I have watched do suggest buying matching containers to store food in. More money spent when I will be using the box of pasta soon anyway. Your videos don’t overwhelm me. Thank you!

Never underestimate the value of lots of shelves! So much space is wasted with too much headroom per factory-installed dimensions. Yesterday, my husband added 4 more shelves (using scrap wood we had in the garage) to my tall kitchen pantry, and the storage increase was terrific - everything sorted and fitted on its own custom-height shelf. Love your videos, and your energy for minimalism, Shannon - Many Thanks! ps the green paint to match the green tile in your spice cabinet - lovely!

Love the vertical custom spice rack!

Same here, I live in a house that was built in the 60's and there's only three small closets in my home. My kitchen and bathroom is small. So I have to be creative and I have minimal things because I don't have the space for more stuff in my home. But it's okay, I'm learning to not only be creative but mindful of what I bring into my home.

Thank you so much for all your videos! I appreciate your realistic approach. I feel that your home looks like the majority of our own homes, and you’re reminding us to be happy, content and grateful! I love your mom! I’ve also become very good at declutterring ☺️…
  • @TigerG16
I loved seeing all of your systems, thx for sharing!

Your home and organization habits have been a great inspiration. I like your kitchen, even though it's older, it has so much character and charm. Score on the spice rack, nice addition. I watched Grant's video when he made it. Great video, he's so funny! Yes, the use of bins for shelves and shoe boxes & trays for drawers is my way to keep things. Have a great week!

I love your cabinets over your closets. And your pull-out spice cabinet. Bins and drawer dividers are a must. Great ideas.
