The splashing situation escalates this week as Tennesee try’s to charge me and my friend who has a scholarship with a class A misdemeanor punishable by jail time and probation for splashing with jet skis. Although the police department is being professional and respectful the judicial side of things is being much more difficult. Since they won’t drop the charges we are now hiring a lawyer and this will be drawn out for possibly years. Although this situation may seem petty, a bad law unchecked can affect society very negatively behind doors. Law affects every single one of us and it’s very important to stand up for what you know is right. Thank you all for supporting!!!

I want to make it very clear that the officer screaming at us does not work for the Dekalb county Sheriffs dept. He’s from Putnam county. The Dekalb county police department has been very respectful and professional and actually has no involvement in any of this whatsoever. Please don’t leave a bad review for the Dekalb county sheriffs department, they’re the good guys!!!

This has NOTHING to do with splashing water and EVERYTHING to do with pissing off that old man. When you get your lawyer you need to find out who he is and if he sent his cop buddies after you. This could be targeted harassment and worthy of suing.
  • @RamblinAround
The main issue is that the jackass on the boat sent the TWA out there like his personal henchmen. This is all because of his power trip.

love that they wanna say "well i cant do anything about the law" yet if you invite everyone to a safety course it all suddenly goes away.
  • @Denver_____
That old man is going to learn a valuable lesson, he probably has done this type of harassment many times before with no repercussions.

“Kids need to go outside more nowadays” * you right to jail

"I can't do anything about the law" says every bad police officer I've ever encountered. There's somthing called "officer discretion" could have easily just said a verbal warning and went on his way.
  • I love how you are standing up for the community instead of being selfish

Hey man - this is old news now but thanks for bringing this to light. When I was a freshman in college I got a class A for "racing" even though the cop clocked me doing 45 in a 45. I got arrested, spent thousands, and a few years on probation for it. Got railroaded through court with no idea what was happening, and I couldn't afford a lawyer that would give me the time of day. Come to find out they didn't even charge me correctly (what they actually charged me with had nothing to do with racing, and was something related to horse racing/gambling?) - so I managed to get it expunged from my record 10 years later. Never got the time, money, or lost jobs back though. I generally agree with the legal system and and sympathize with law enforcement - but when it goes bad, it goes bad. Thanks for bringing this kind of abuse of power to light!
  • Word of advice. Get an attorney. I can't stress this enough. Never, ever go to court without an attorney. Even if it's a simple jay walking ticket, retain an attorney. The court expects you to be ignorant of the law then throw the book at you.
  • I, for one, hope they throw the book at you. Maximum charges. I remember my mom pouring water over my head to get the shampoo out of my hair, when I was a toddler. The cup was only inches away, I can't even imagine how bad it would be to get splashed from a few feet away. The speed of the droplets would be devastating.

Years ago i learned this the hard way. I knew in my heart I was doing the right thing by trying to be honest and tell my story, but I was strong-armed into taking the attorneys' deal. Turns out it didn't matter as the judge decided he didn't want to honor that deal. It has caused me no end of trouble and heartbreak, and made my life so much more difficult. One stupid mistake and it follows you forever, to jobs, schools, relationships.. these people don't care so long as they get to maintain their idea of control, and help their own ambitions. I'm glad you have the resources on your side and sincerely wish you the best.

Dude this was a real stand up thing to do for a friend. You could've easily been selfish about it, but you are bringing awareness to the situation. As a cop he could have talked to yall and educated yall about the rules. Keep doing what you believe in dude💪🏾💪🏾

This is going to be the splash heard around the world

Sounds like Cody is doing this more for the guy who works for him that is trying to create a career then anything else. That is a really good friend. Good on you man, protect the guys that have your back.

Glad to see a young person fighting for Justice in such a positive way! N'o rule, law, or regulation is a substitute for good judgement or COMMON SENSE. I'm a 60 year old former USAF officer, 3rd generation combat veteran. Continue to use our justice system. Use public oppinion and appeal bad court decisions. It's important for you to show that you can get FAIR justice in our system. Keep up the fight and Continue to use your good judgement and common sense. Little things make big things happen!! God bless
  • I hope you got actual good lawyers to fight this. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. What they are trying to do is manipulate you with the “law” because they are in positions of power than think they can control you.
  • @BasicFolders
I'm a 50 year old adult, so I can see getting annoyed at kids making waves and disturbing the peace a bit; but the way the off duty cop abused his position and acted like an idiot is by any measure 500 times worse, that guy should get reprimanded or something WAY BEFORE anyone spends time, effort, and my tax dollars to go after the kids splashing in the water.
  • @NEUTRALDROP
You need to sue the b*lls off of them, they're trying to punish you for your approach in handling the butt hurt officers conduct and the fact that you brought some support with you to court. Total abuse and missuse of power and authority while trying to put you in your place so to speak ...they need to be exposed! Fight the good fight Cody!!!
  • I just started watching your videos. You're a most intriguing young man. This from an old dude (70) . I'll continue watching, especially after seeing the Murfreesboro address, I drive OTR and load twice a week there. Thanks for the videos
