It's been a long hard journey to get here, but I'm proud to finally announce... I bought my first helicopter. I know I know... you're worried. But I can assure you all that I have the proper training and expertise needed for something like this. The skies are not ready for me…….

I believe the airspace in your garage is still under FAA jurisdiction. As long as the helicopter stays tethered to the ground , with rope , you should be able to build airtime without a license, just don't break the rope.

If Cody's helicopter were slightly lighter and slightly slower (<254 lbs and <63 mph at full power, according to wikipedia), it could technically qualify as an ultralight craft!
