The guy got impressively far out there in a 2 wheel drive truck and I'm betting if the truck had not broken he probably would have made it back out.

20:18 Kaulin: "He stops for nobody" 20:29 Matt stops Matt: "I was watching the mirror and all the sudden you fell off, made me nervous" 🤣

I work fire lookouts each summer. No cell service for large portions of the forest. I bring my starlink with me (rv version subscription) and can use WiFi calling from my phone with it. Most of the time it’s stowed away, but sometimes I’ll drive with it connected from the bed of the pickup and an inverter. It’d be a cheap safety feature to have on these recoveries (cell phones working, internet and satellite imagery, accept customer payments, etc.). Also, it’s a great backup for the house when the internet goes down and works great for getting info while camping for prolonged periods of time.

At 25:45 - Tom: "Go left and ride out the way we came in?". Mat: "Yeah. We know that way and there's a burro if we get hungry". Earlier when spotting the burro on the way in - Mat: "What do you call a baby burro?" .... "A burrito". Haha. I love Mat's dry and self-depreciating sense of humour, he'd fit right in here in Australia, especially out bush.

"Are you hopeful?" Matt: "I don't know what else to be." And that's why we love ya Big Guy!

Per Kevin and Brittany, blue on OnX means that path is verified/validated recently. I think green just means it hasn't been verified within a year, or 6 months. Blue might mean someone with OnX has driven that road and verified that it is still drivable. OnX is community-driven, so everyone together helps rate the trails, provide pictures, and verify trails.

The wrecker is just plain awesome. It's not something converted from a road vehicle to an off-road one it is purpose built for the type recoveries that Matt is called upon to do. Matt should be so proud to say I (and crew) built that. I remember the build from the time the frame was just chalk marks on the floor. Not that this recovery was any challenge for it I have seen it at it's best where nothing else could of got the job done but it just makes me smile everytime I see it in action knowing that it is definitely one of a kind and there will never be another just like it. Matt usually has a smile on his face every time he is behind the wheel and rightfully so. Don't get me wrong I love the Morrvair also, it's one mean machine too. I started watching when all he had to work with was the almost stock XJ and a Bubba brand tow rope and no winch, just yanked everything out. Things have changed over the years and Matt has become very successful and rightfully so from all his hard work, great family and awesome crew. I forgot to include generosity also. Thanks for the ride.

Mica was used as electrical insulators and the bigger sheets as window pains back in the past.😉👍👍
  • @WolfMimirMori
It's funny seeing the Banana going full throttle and having slight struggle up when they turned around, then the wrecker just casually rolls up. Having 3x larger tires has some perks I guess, haha.
  • @Abelitokandie
That moment when Matt realised TomTom was tired and let him drive the Ford is wholesome. Matt is a good man and boss.

Lol. That’s not being stuck between a rock and the hard place, that was stuck between a rock and no place! Great job guys!! Love it.
  • Tom’s positivity and ability to roll with the punches is absolutely inspiring!
  • "what's a baby burro"? ... a burrito! hahahah!!! Dad joke for the win. you guys rock.
  • This video gives off vibes from a couple years ago. Scenic footage, good vibes, excellent recoveries. Love it!
  • @jaysparc
One of my favorite videos. I know the channel has been through a lot, this is the best collection of guys you've ever had. Your sons really pull their weight.
  • Thanks for the update Kaulin - you are one lucky lad. I know a few that have had similar surgeries that have not been so fortunate. I have been an AK amputee since age 14 [1978] I'm 61 now.
  • Everyone knows the MORR crew has safety as their #5 priority, oh wait that is Robbie. Good thing that wasn't a rusted Corvair, otherwise you would have had to figure out how to get that out too. Holy crap I don't even know how the customer got their car there... half the time the story is just as good as the recovery.
  • Thanks for the update, Kaulin. I've been watching you do some impressive climbing lately and have been amazed at your recovery.
  • @gcovete1642
Excellent recovery. Thank you for your videos from Canada
  • There's a lot of people out there that are so lucky and hopefully grateful that you guys do what you do... Big blessings to you all
