For some reason I thought that barnyard was a dreamworks movie, so I got really nervous when we got to number 1 on the list
  • @augsto12341
Boss Baby, the Anti Spirited Away. I wasn't ready for this analogy

Him: turbo is the worst animated film Megamind 2: sounds like a CHALLENGE

I remember reading about how the people working on the Prince of Egypt consulted Christian, Jewish, AND Muslim scholars to get as many differing perspectives as possible on a story that is foundational to several different religions and important to hundreds of millions of people to make it as accessible and respectful as possible. And that work really shows.

“why won’t you sing?” “because singing killed my grandma” This is like a Doctor Doofenshmirtz backstory

Talking about Shen: “and the villain is just a smidge less intimidating” Shen: committed mass genocide of pandas and almost caused their extinction

The fact that you made the joke that you had “been talking…for THIRTY MINUTES” at the exact 30 minute mark was something I never knew I needed.

Sometimes I forget that Boss Baby is a Dreamworks movie and not an Illumination movie.

“why won’t you sing?” “because singing killed my grandma” HAHAHA WHAT
  • Dreamworks is such a bizarre studio... You're telling me the same people who made kung fu panda, how to train your dragon, Megamind and puss in boots the last wish... Are the same people who made shark tale💀

The Dreamworks method of A team and B team movies is honestly pretty ingenious. You have your best team working on the big shot movies that establish the brand name and market but ultimately cost more / are riskier, while your less talented team works on movies that are designed quickly to turn an easy profit for funding the latter series. Occasionally the B team even manages to outperform your A team, as seen with Shrek

The first half of this video was me going "oh yeah I forgot that movie existed"

"WHY WON'T YOU SING?" "BECAUSE SINGING KILLED MY GRANDMA" "I ATE MY GRANDMA"

Fun Fact: Troll K-Pop implies there is a Troll Korea. Troll Korea implies Troll North Korea. Troll North Korea implies a Troll Soviet Union. Troll Soviet Union implies a Troll World War 2. This Implies that there was, indeed, a Troll Hitler.

"As a Christian who thinks most Christian movies are garbage," Man, I feel that.

When I rewatch The Prince of Egypt, I often have to skip the beginning part because the opening scene with the Egyptians commiting genocide against the Hebrews is too much for me, and even makes me cry. It’s just so well done and strong that I can’t even sit through it. Also, it was a pretty bold move for Dreamworks to put a scene of literal genocide into an animated movie. I bet everyone in the theatre in 1998 was shocked beyond belief.

My school tried making me watch the croods to "learn about how our ancestors lived."
